I've got a loverly bunch of coconuts....

Well, Autumn has arrived, and we wait with bated breath for the momiji to become crimson red, and the weather to finally cool down. The autumn food rush is on, with people cooking sanma (English name Pacific saury. Doesn't sound appetizing, eh?) and kuri (chestnut) desserts everywhere. I swear, the typical method of cooking sanma over hot coals for breakfast makes me feel ill. I'm sure a fish-lover would think it smells greeat, but as a marginal fish-liker, I have to disagree. Especially having to smell it just after waking up in the morning. It's enough to put me off my brekkie (which I don't usually eat anyway).

There are some interesting new movies coming out over here that may be of interest to readers. The trend recently has been to make live action dramas based on comic books. Hmmm, sounds like what's going on in the States. Anyway, don't know if any of these are any good, as I haven't seen them yet. I am very interested in Nana, Shinobi and Kyoshin.

Big-hit manga series Nana is now a big-hit movie.

The manga series Touch has been made into a movie.

This is real anime, for you Gundam fans...

This is just cool-looking. It is called Shinobi.

Again, cool-looking promo, this time and independent movie called Kyoshin.

I'll try and update this as time goes on. The reason I don't go to the movies very much is simple, it costs too damn much money. I wait for them to come on cable, or in the rental store. $16 for one person to see a movie, and that doesn't include rice crackers! I don't want to rant about that right now though. If there are any requests for information on Japan or things Japanese, please let me know. I'll do my best to find it out for you.
