Just FYI... I didn't think I was seeing that many differences on Adderall when I first started (wait... you haven't been on any drugs before, right?)

I wasn't in school, but I had just started a table-waiting job. It seemed okay, but no big difference. (I was on it for a couple of weeks.) So I decided (with my Dr.) to stop taking it for a week. BIG difference. I realized that it had been helping me QUITE a bit.

Funny, because when I first took an anti-depressant, I noticed a big difference outright. So... *shrugs*

That's really interesting, since it's sort of "backwards." They always say that anti-depressants take forever to kick in, but my aunt swears the effect is immediate.

Hmm.

Totally depends on your chemistry. I seem to metabolize stuff much faster than normal, so with me, SSRIs usually take a day or so to kick in. It also depends on the type of antidepressant--I think SSRIs take longer than some others.

Oh... memories. I luckly didn't have to go through that whole nightmare (being a photog) but it certainly brings back the memories. More so where you mentioned the "plastics"... we had "Boom Boom" and her crew. Twirps.
Good luck though.
Only a few more months left and a practicum to pad it.

I'm sure every program has their version of that type...

I love production, even when I'm fixing silly shit like that, it just makes me wonder sometimes how people are actually going to get jobs.

Keep in mind that not all drugs work for all people with the same condition. Ritalin did work for me, but it also drove my blood pressure up. It turns out that Wellbutrin works with my ADD, but without the BP hike. It may just take a while to figure out which combination of which meds works best for you.

Oh, I know that's true. I'm just finding the program in high-pressure (too many deadlines!) so let's say I'm somewhat anxious about it. Eh. I can't make any results appear by willing them to, though, I know.

i feel the same way with the people at work! They've all been there at least 6 months more than i and i end up training them all the time! I know its easier said than done, but dont let it get to you... there's not much you can do about other people's stupidity..

i was going to suggest adderall, or concerta. ive never been prescribed any of these drugs but i think i have some issues with add that i've never addressed with my doctor. when i tried ritalin, it just made me hyper, concerta (even in a small dose) made me irritable and edgy, but adderall was GOLDEN. I sat down and studied for 5 hrs and absorbed everything and didnt even notice the time pass! normally i cant concentrate on one thing for too long unless im really geared up about it.

if the dose is too high you'll act short and irritable. but like it was said above, it all depends on your chemistry! my psychopharm prof always said treating mental illness is more like an art than a science...

I would have been interested in Adderall, but I discovered when I went to my GP that she actually has never prescribed anything for ADD before, and doesn't have a clue. She wasn't even aware of the existence of any drug for ADD but Ritalin. So I'm going with this, and she said she'd read up on it in the meantime.

If this doesn't work very well, I guess maybe I'll try Adderall next.

That's a good quote, really.
