it's raining, it's raining. and now i can sit on my bed by my window and tap away at my keyboard because we got wireless!
here's some snapshots of the last few days:
this morning i walked to CERES market in the rain. it was so peaceful. birds calling, the merri bubbling along, angry weekend cyclists ringing their bells at me to get off the path, the powerlines popping and fizzing...how's the serenity?
bill and i spent last evening making plum jam with our eighty-eight year-old Italian neighbour. and drinking her homemade wine. well, i drank the wine, and bill's aswell when amalia wasn't looking. bill doesn't drink but doesn't know how to say no to amalia. she's fucking feisty!
excitement levels reached a peak at our place yesterday arvo when bill brought home our first vegie box from the moreland co-op. we ordered a $30 and a $15 box and both were huge and full of organic fruits and vegies. i sat with outside with the box on my lap grazing on carrots and white peaches. it's a pretty good deal, so if ya live in moreland i recommend you git on board.
the night before last i was sleeping peacefully in my bed. i think i remember rolling over on to bill, who then pushed me away towards the window. somehow my leg ended up somewhere on the window sill, at which point the plastic moisturiser bottle i had propping the window open decided to collapse, concertina style, and the window crashed down. i screamed and grabbed bill. the scream woke me up, then bill screamed - in a manly fashion. and we both quivered for a few minutes. i was convinced, in my half-asleep state, that someone was out there - probably had something to do with the story about the window groper that hannah and jayne told me.
another slightly creepy story: this one's second hand, passed on from isabelle (our housemate). it happened the same night when isabelle went outside to piss. she was squatting by the lemon tree, had just pulled her pants down around her ankles, when she realised aaron (other housemate) standing by the clothes line. "hello, surprise!" was what he apparently said when he noticed her. slightly inappropriate, perhaps.
aaron is moving out. we are looking for another housie. if you know anyone, spread the word.
