Originally uploaded by SketchyBeanI originally planned to play around with the charcoal tool to make a drawing completely out of the black shading for that, but using the chalk tool with orange felt much more right. I think this is one of the first times I really tried to do shading with just the pressure and density of an individual color & tool, rather than swapping colors for lighter & dark areas.
The one on the right is after using the "smudge" tool to even out the texture and density of the areas. It ended up making it a lot more lighter and blurry than I'd expected, so I included the original un-smudged version as I think I like it a little better.
