HEY! On Friday, me and Amy went to Vancouver for the Honda Civic Tour, and it was super fun! EDIT: I put everything under the cut instead of just the pictures because it looked so long and obnoxious on my flist, omg.
Soooo, we took the ferry over at 10:30 and had deliciously filling cake and hot chocolate, and we bought a Spiderman colouring book. We're 5, obviously.
My uncle picked us up at the ferry at like noon, and we wanted to go straight to the PNE Forum to line up, but my uncle was like LOL N so we had to go to their house (where we were staying for the night) and get my aunt to drive us. We ended up getting there at 1:30, and there were like 30 people already there in front of us and we were like :(
The wait seemed so long at the time, but looking back now, the 4 and a half hours flew by super fast! Getting through the doors was so unorganized, but luckily we didn't have any bags for them to check. Unfortunately, there were quite a few people who paid the extra $50 for early admission, which meant there were like 5 or 6 rows of people in front of us on the floor before the show started. We were so spoiled by barrier last year, oh man, I definitely missed being that close and being able to see.
The show finally started at 7, and Phantom Planet was the first band. I was least psyched for them because I've never listened to them ever (except California, but that's a given). For some strange, unknown reason, the crowd was insanely crazy for their set, and everyone was squished in so tight, pm no one could breath or move their arms. It was not fun. At one point, a huge amount of the crowd fell over and piled on the floor and someone was sitting on my foot for a minute or two and now I have some really sexy bruises. Idk if it's just because I didn't know any of their songs, but the sound seemed really shitty during their set and I couldn't understand anything.
Next was The Hush Sound. I like them a lot, and their new album has grown on me a bit, but I didn't expect them to be OMG AMAZING live, and I was right, I think. Idk, they weren't bad by any means but not super exciting either. I was a little farther back from being pushed during PP, but everyone was more spread out and I could actually breath, and there was a lot less painfulness, which immediately made it a more enjoyable set. Their set seemed so short, but I'm glad they played lots from Like Vines, it's still my favourite album of theirs.
Eeeee, next was Motion City Soundtrack! They were AMAZING. Seriously so good! I was worried I had built them up so much and would be disappointed, but I totally wasn't. They were the only band that I was really really excited for and not embarrassed about it, haha. OMG the crowd singing along dksajhklajhdf, it made my night! There was so much jumping but not violent jumping, fun jumping. And they were so amazing live and kdsajhladk. I thought my camera broke like half way through their set, and I couldn't turn it on, but I was just being retarded and putting the batteries in wrong I found out after. Lameee. Oh, and sometime during their set, me and Amy got separated and I didn't see her again until the end of the night, unfortch.
Finally, it was Panic at the Disco time. I hate myself so much, but they were amazing :( Like, fantastic. Soooo good. And everything sounded so good, and they played a pretty long set compared to the other ones, and dkajsklhas :( :( :( They were super fun. I could definitely breath during their set, which was good, and there was super fun jumping and singing along and yayyyy. OMG and I loved the bubbles so much, idk why. I took wayyy to many pictures during their set, idk how it happened. The last half of their set, I was mildly dying because I was so thirsty and dehydrated and hadn't eaten like, anything all day and had been standing for like 8 hours straight (4 hours in the line, and sometimes we were sitting, but still). It was still so amazing, omg I had so much fun :(
K so the show ended just before 11, and I didn't see Amy anywhere but we had agreed to meet at a bus stop close to the venue where my uncle was going to pick us up. I was dying of thirst, and all they had was Coke, and I hate pop so much, but I ended up buying a tiny cup of Coke of like $3 and drinking most of it even though it was disgusting. I went and got a shirt at the merch table too, an MCS shirt that I looove. Me and Amy finally met up (after I powerwalked right by her, lollll) and my uncle picked us up a little while later and we were back at their house by 11:30ish.
Yeah, this is long, w/e fuck you. The next day me and Amy went to Metrotown, and did some shopping and saw The Strangers (it was really scary, but not a great movie or anything) and did some more shopping, and then went for dinner with my aunt, uncle and cousin. I had steak and it was super good but Amy was too lame to try any of it because it was medium rare and bleeding a tiny bit on the plate. LAME. We caught the 7pm ferry back to the island and I was home at like 9:30 after dropping Amy off.
I am really sore right now, even though I was pm fine yesterday. I took a nillion pictures though (mostly of PATD, oh dear) and I went through and posted some of the bestest ones under the cut right here!
The car! We were right in front of it for a few hours in line. After a while, I decided I really enjoyed the colour, but would never want to drive it ever because holy shit it would be so embarrassing.
Pretty shitty Phantom Planet pictures, it was almost impossible for me to move during their set.
Hushiesss.
Surprisingly, I got some pretty good pictures of Bob, even though I had to zoom in a lot.
Eeeee, MCS!
The little picture thing behind them for their set was/is so fucking adorable kdsjaklhja.
I'm pretty sure the pointing at this point meant it was our turn to sing. slajhksdj I love sing alongs.
Panic!
Halfway through their set, I started taking non-flash pictures and they turned out so much better, I wish I had used the same settings during the other bands' sets.
Bubblessss! During Behind the Sea, obv.
LOL.
Jazz hands!
Everyone came out for the last song, Mad as Rabbits. It was the perfect exciting ending song.
LOL me and Amy coloured this on the way to Vancouver. We added a few things, including some Panic references (that green gentleman in the right corner, who somehow turned into that green gentlewoman with a top hat, and a nine in the afternoon clock in the left corner).
Spiderman likes his new outfit, it's less boring than his old one. Omg, and I totally rediscovered my love of crayons, even though we only had 8.
LOL Amy drew this. It's supposed to look like the little one in the corner. She is an artiste.
FUCK THIS IS LONG IF YOU ACTUALLY READ THE WHOLE THING YOU ARE PROBABLY A PROFESSIONAL READER.
