This is for the C-O, 3-0-3, my people

Hello! Yesterday me and Amy went to Warped and it was awesome! I just got back from seeing Julie and Julia with Kristen and Elsie (it sucked) and we drank Monster energy drinks and were super hyper/tired when the movie was done so this might be a little weird to read but whatever it's not like I'm going to bed anytime soon. Pictures and words and stuff under the cut.

Soooo, yesterday morning I woke up at 4am (actually I slept in until 20 after and totally freaked out but it turns out I didn't really need those 20 minutes after all) and Amy came to pick me up to catch the 6:40 ferry. I had a slice of lemon meringue pie and some hot chocolate for breakfast on the ferry.

This was Amy's first time driving in Vancouver, which was kind of nerve-wracking but she printed out lots of maps and we made it UBC just fine despite driving through the city at 8:30 in the morning. We got to Thunderbird Stadium at like 9:30 I guess and waited in line until doors at 11.

While in line, a girl in front of us got a text from her friend (lol ik) saying All Time Low cancelled their set because Alex lost his passport, which turned out to be true and that kind of sucked. Also, Single File were totally supposed to play (the Warped site has them on the band list for our date) and I was so stoked for them, but they were nowhere in the schedule. So that was lame. And we planned to see Hit The Lights (we wrote down their set time and everything!) but they weren't on stage when they were supposed to be. So idk when/if they played, but we didn't see them that's for sure.

HOWEVER, there are some bands that we totally did see, 11 of them in fact. LESS WORDS MORE PICTURES.

Every Avenue! They weren't quite as good as I remember them being when we saw them in November, but they played pretty much immediately after doors so no one was super pumped yet. I still like them live more than I enjoy listening to their albums, I think.

Valenciaaaa! They were really awesome! Idk what else to say!

Neither of us listen to Big D and the Kids Table, but we totally will be now because they were so good. We pm just drifted over to their stage after Valencia and were like "hey, trumpets!" and then watched most of their set. Trombone! Who brings a trombone to Warped?! That's awesome!

The White Tie Affair! We were like, "hey maybe we should see them if we have time but it's okay if we don't", and now I'm totally into them. We were on our way to see Saosin (another "if we have time" band) and saw the wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tubemen on stage, and were like, "fuck Saosin, that looks like way more fun". So yeah, "quotation marks".

Forever The Sickest Kids! I still don't completely understand their huge fanbase...like, in my head they're a pretty small band but both times we've seen them (the first time being last year at Warped) they've had giant, crazy crowds. We were packed like sardines in the 2nd/3rd row. This was the only picture I took because my arms were trapped for most of their set. And omg the crowd surfing. Near the end it was just a constant stream of people, it was insane.

The lower part of Thunderbird Stadium, with the main stage and all the band tents. I waited until the end of the day to buy merch (which seemed like a good idea but turned out to be a bad one because I forgot that all the tents pack up early), so I just ended up with a 3OH!3 shirt. Which is probably for the better, because I'm terrible at holding onto money.

We The Kings! First of all, WTF were they doing on the main stage?! They have one album that came out 2 years ago, idgi. Obviously they didn't have many "main stage" bands this year though, considering there was only one main stage instead of two. Also, We The Kings' album is 34 minutes long, and they had a 40 minute set. I find this hilarious. I BET PICKING THE SETLIST WAS DIFFICULT FOR THEM HAHAHA. They did do a Jimmy Eat World cover though. Unfortunately they didn't blow me away like last year, but they were alright.

We took a break, and Amy got the most amazing chicken fingers! I had two bites and they were delicious. I didn't expect good food at Warped at all. This is when Amy started saying "Let's get freaky now, let's get fucking freaky now" over and over, and it became the slogan of the day. FUCK YEAH BROKENCYDE*~

Broadway Calls was another "if we have time" band, but I'm super glad we had time because they were great. I enjoyed them quite a bit and will definitely be listening to them more than I did before seeing them live (which was like two times, I think)

Theset! My bb band! I was so happy when I heard they were playing Warped, Amy and I have seen them 5 times now in the past 3 years (and we're seeing them again at the end of the month, awesome) and I was stoked that they had a good sized crowd for their set. They played really well, and the new song they played sounded awesome.

Sing It Loud was yet another "if we have time" band, we were supposed to watch Hit The Lights, but we couldn't find them/they didn't play/whatever. I honestly hadn't listened to them before, but I need to download their album now because they were super fun. Their lead singer has very impressive hair.

Bayside! I was so stoked to see them again, considering the first time we saw them was 2 years ago and I was totally neutral on them and Amy practically dragged me their set (not in a bad way, I'm totally happy about the dragging). They seemed more energetic this time, which is always good. At first the crowd was pretty tiny, but I think it grew to decent-sized by the end of their set.

Heading down to the main stage for 3OH!3. They had been playing for like 5 minutes, and had what seemed to be the biggest crowd ever. It felt like everyone at Warped was watching their set.

They were so much fun, omg. I'm so into this band right now it's almost sad. The huge crowd paired with the sun going down resulted in completely terrible pictures (as in, these are by far the best pictures I took during their set and they look like shit) that don't express how fantastic they were, but trust me they were great.

After 3OH!3 we decided that we should leave instead of watching Gallows because we didn't want to miss the last ferry (we ended up being really early but w/e), and as we left we saw this, which is Gallows' lead singer inside a circle of people (presumably). I've seen pictures from other Warped dates of him singing in the crowd instead of on stage, so I expected this. But really, we couldn't have seen them even if we wanted too.

So, we headed back to the car and made our way to the ferry. We waited for like an hour and half and listened to the radio and shitty music on youtube. Once we were on the ferry, we didn't go up to the passenger decks at all (the seats in Amy's car are actually pretty comfortable when they're all the way back, or maybe we were just really exhausted). Amy slept for a while but I don't think I did at all...however it's totally possible that I dozed off and don't remember. I got home around 1am, it was a pretty good 21 hour day. My legs hurt from standing so much and my ears are still ringing BOO HOO POOR ME but srsly Warped was fun.

amy, sing it loud, vancouver, bayside, valencia, the white tie affair, driving, broadway calls, forever the sickest kids, warped tour, live, big d and the kids table, every avenue, we the kings, concert, 3oh!3, theset, music
