While I slept, a radio telescope at Green Bank, West Virginia, has picked up Huygens's faint carrier signal, so we know at least that the probe entered the atmosphere of Titan and operated its transmitter.
Cassini, much nearer to Titan, is listening too, as it passes overhead. It should be stuffing Huygens's bits into its memory. Playback begins later today.
