Well, I got off of a train this morning at a little after 5 o'clock. At 5:45 I was sitting a rock looking out at the Mediterannean. Man, this is going to be a great day I thought. Although it was rediculously early, it was going to be a great day of hiking through the Cinque Terre.
Then, it started. The luggage storage was closed at the train station and didn't open until 8. Then, at the next train station there wasn't any luggage storage at all. What was I going to do for over 2 hours. I decided to take the train back to the main station where my train from Barcelona would leave from, and give the guy my luggage at 8. So, I backtracked and made it to the station. At 8, the luggage storage still wasn't open. My train was supposed to leave at 8:15, and this guy ambles in at 8:10 with two girls in front of me. I get out at 8:14 and run through the underground to get to my train platform. Well, I'm supposed to get on a train at platform 4, but no one's on it. I get on and see all of these people at platform 5 staring at me. One woman motions to me, so I figure I'm on the wrong train. I run out of train 4 and try to get on train 5. The door shuts. I run down one more door where a train worker is. The train starts moving. Does this go to Riomaggiore? I ask as I walk quickly beside the train. She kind of mumbles as she shuts the door. It did go to Riomaggiore, and now it left me.
The next train doesn't leave until 10. I was up at 4 this morning. What will I have done in the past 6 hours once I arrive at Riomaggiore. I sat on some rocks. Granted, they were really pretty rocks. Now, I'll get to Riomaggiore at about 10:15, and I have to catch a train in Monterosso at 3:19 to catch my train to Barcelona. That gives me 5 hours and 4 minutes for a 5 hour hike. I better book it. I hate trains.
Oh yeah, and this computer won't let me check my gmail, and I have no idea why.
