Bit of a panic out and about, it seems! Don't suppose anyone has a use for a twenty-third century Chief Engineer, then? Otherwise I'll be happy to keep my head down and continue tinkering with some of these ah... Macintosh thingamajigs. Twenty-first technology has so many superfluous bits tacked on for no discernible reason that I can see. It's a

No, it's just me, old chap. What's the latest news, then?

The Admiral's first mistake is in thinking Davros is redeemable, which immediately leads me to wonder what else is amiss and what safety we've got 'til he makes a move. I strongly suggest you retire, either to your room, the pub or the infirmary. We've not yet erected the force fields, so you may still go to them without the aid of Kurt's transm- er, teleportation. I'm doing modifications to the one I'm building, to strengthen it and mend the figurative chinks... I might even enlist your aid, if you're up to it. For once, my confidence in my own genius is shadowed only by my knowledge of his prowess.

I can build phaser shields if that's what you're asking, but if it's a specific kind of energy you need, I imagine it won't be too much trouble. Have you talked to Adric? I get the feeling he and I could fulfill any order you could make if we put our heads together.
I'll find my way to the infirmary, then.

I'm not certain of which point in my relative timeline he hails from. I've no idea how far he's advanced since I saw him last. He recognised me, that much was clear, which means the poison remnants I've got left in my laboratory...
[Stressed out Doctor has ADD, apparently. A few minutes later]
Adric hasn't responded. I wouldn't dare put him into this. Not after what I- what he- no. He must stay safe.
Artron. That is- no. Are you familiar with mathematical computations?

Adric lent me a few books on your TARDIS and his universe. Artron's complicated stuff, but not out of my realm of my understanding. Guess that's the best I can offer. I'll start reading up and lending a hand wherever you dictate.
I'm an engineer, lad. Mathematical computation's as familiar to me as being alive, and I'd love to stretch it out for you.

You're aware, then, that artron powers much of my ship's functions within her relative dimension, and that she is composed primarily of block transfer mathematics?

I was also considering a modification to the force field to allow only organic matter and pre-programmed instances of inorganic matter to teleport through it, as well as specific biological imprints to be required in order to activate or deactivate. Every precaution we can take against Davros or his minions overwhelming the field is a good one.
