Well, last week I wrote about some of the funny things that I learn from working at a Dr. office. Actually I think I only told about some of the names that I filed. Well, I also got to help restrain a 4 year old boy so he could take a breathing treatment and ended up haveing to wrap my arms and legs around him to hold him down. We also had a woman come in to have her son's TB test read, but she didn't bring in the boy!!!!! Yeah, we all had a really good laugh over that one!
Well, this week I have been exposed to the not so happy aspect of working there. This morning a family came in with their very young daughter (only a few months old). It was recently discovered that this little girl was dying and there is nothing that we can do for her. All anyone can do now is wait for it to happen and try to cherish the time that they have with her! Then yesterday we received word about another little girl (4 years old) who is one of our patients, who is currently in the ICU. She was in the back seat of their car, unrestrained, when her mother rear ended another car going 65 mph. The girl was unresponsive when the paramedics got to her and is still in a coma today, this happened two or three days ago now. She is not doing well at all, she has a skull fracture with a lot of internal damage. It still remains to be seen whether she will live or not. Sorry to write such sad stuff today, but that was what was weighing on my mind today. And isn't that what this journal is for, the stuff on our minds? Yeah, so I know none of you, or me for that matter, really know these two families, but I am asking that we all keep them in our prayers! Ok, well its time for me to go to bed so I can see what kind of adventures await me tomorrow at work! Goodnight all!
