...y'know whichever.
I've recently started watching Monk and I can't help but see the similarities between that show, Psych and yours. I don't know if this is a semi-conscious thing or if every show featuring a super observant (and sometimes super annoying) detective will inevitably have similar storylines, I don't care. I'm very easy to please. That said, it is now your turn to have an episode in which the victim is an actor who is stabbed in plain sight in front of witnesses and Jane ends up taking over the role of the dead actor or the accused murderer. (See Monk's
Mr. Monk Goes to the Theater or Pysch's
Lights, Camera... Homicidio)
Yes, I realize that Jane's suppose to avoid cameras now, but you all seem to have forgotten about Bosco, so you can temporarily forget about this too. However, in regards to the upcoming episode
Red Ponies, seeing as how it's written by the same person who wrote Red Sauce and seems to involve the racetrack, I expect a callback to Lisbon's pony!
And in other fandom news:
In between my Monk marathoning, I squeezed in a Simon Baker movie -
Not Forgotten. Sadly it's not all that suspenseful, but low expectations, Paz Vega's prettiness and Chloë Moretz's resemblance to Clémence Poésy made it tons better than some of his other movies and I was highly amused,
which is probably not quite the reaction they were going for. I couldn't help it though, Paz Vega's character's revenge plan is just so long and insane, it's kind of hilarious. It's also a bit squicky. Also, SBaker as a hitman amuses me in general it seems. His hitmen just seem slightly incompetent, not so much in the execution (bad pun totally intended) of the hit but more the other stuff, like making sure there are no witnesses.
I'm also highly amused with how Series 3 of Doctor Who is churning out Hollywood stars. I'm looking forward to
Never Let Me Go (even though the book was a bit predictable) simply because it features
Sally Sparrow and
Martha's buddy from Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks. If only they had somehow managed to cast
Tim from Family of Blood/Human Nature, then it'd be a reunion of Series 3 DW one-off characters that I thought could've been future companions.
Also, those following Sarah Jane Adventure spoilers.
Is this true? Luke's leaving and taking K-9 with him? Is that what that oddly Luke-less episode last series was all about? I'm all sad because I really liked this cast. (Sorry Maria, it wasn't your fault, but instead of thinking you were awesome in 'Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane?' the exact opposite happened and at times it felt like Sarah Jane completely forgot that Luke was her kid when you were around.)
Edited to add: I can't believe I forgot about this. If you're a Simon Baker fan or a fan of ridiculously funny (though I suspect they're not suppose to be) ads, go check out his
Samsung Australia campaign! I just realized the end is like an inadvertent Who crossover. He's totally taking out a Toclafane there!
