Dude was only 53. Of course his three-pack-a-day nicotine habit, the sheer volume of caffeine the man ingested on a regular basis, and the stress level of his chosen profession may have contributed to his early demise. ;-)
Man, those guys live a hard life. But apparently, he loved what he did, and dying doing something you love... well, that's the way to go, IMO.
