Rebocon 5? Yeah, Spoiler na Kung Spoiler, Pero... DISC 2

Mar 31, 2012 01:10

So THIS is the continuation of my report about Rebocon 5, sorry if it took me long enough due to my, er... Yeah, right, PROCRASTINATION. So here it goes:

OCTOBER 1 NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS

1. RIGHT NOW - Yukari Kokubun as Tsunayoshi Sawada and Yuka Terasaki as Basil
UGH, another cute, quality outfits, fit for cute nerds! >_<  The have same outfits, and hell I almost didn't recognize Yuka-chan because of her new hair! Anyway, I still couldn't get what they talked about in the end.

2. Namida no Ondo - Satomi Akesaka as Chrome Dokuro
Her dress was so prom-able, that's something that you can actually wear at prom nights, and it's pretty! And well, I guess Kondo-san is right to call here 'Uta-Hime'. Hehehe....

3. Kokoro no Hoshi - Hoshino Nanjo as Uni
Somehow I have to grab a copy at the some. Dunno, I suddenly fell in love with it when she sang it again at Rebocon 5. I was imagining that tearjerker scene between Uni and Gamma when they were about to sacrifice their lives just to save Tsuna and the others ;__;

OCTOBER 1 NIGHT SONG BATTLE RANKING: The "This Made Me Numb" Ranking!

TOP 5: Tatta Latta ~ Original Version (sung by Kyoko, Haru, Chrome, Lambo and I-Pin)
First Performed: Rebocon RED (but without I-Pin)
Way better when I-Pin was there. And I love how they designed their umbrellas! I wonder though, what made Ryohei 'cry' while reading the comments about the girls' performance. So what's the Varia's take about this? I can't figure out Xanxus' reaction but I can't stop laughing!

TOP 4: Burning Prayer ~ Varia Quality ver. (Original by Lambo and I-Pin) - performed by Belphegor and Mammon
First Performed: Rebocon 3
Mammon wasn't there but in order to compensate for not performing the song, Bel just made an 'Ushishishi' Jump for the audience. LOL

TOP 3: Kufufu no Fu ~ Kiri no Keiyaku -  sung by Mukuro, with Chrome and - whoe, guess what, Chikusa Kakimoto!
First Performed: Rebocon 3
Since Toyonaga is present, they thought of putting this gimmick to let Kakipi join the performance, complete getup and barcode pah! Damn you, Toyonaga, you're really the Cosplay Seiyuu, you already look like Shoichi, you even look more accurate as Kakipi! It really surprised the audience!

TOP 2: Chikonka no Ame (with fight scenes) - sung by Squalo, special participation of Yammoto in the end
First performed: Rebocon 3
But due to some reasons Squalo wasn't there, either he doesn't want to perform with Yamamoto or... But it was easily remedied when Basil volunteered to take Squalo's place, after all he is also a Rain Flame user, hehe, so they did what they just did in Rebocon RED except that they both not 'possessed' anymore and instead sang it in their natural way, which was WAY better than in RED, IMHO.

TOP 1: Sakura Addiction - sung by Hibari and Mukuro, who else?
First Performed: Rebocon 1
Well it deserve its place to be on the Top Spot, it has become the fandom's National Anthem and it became such a viral sensation that both Kondo and Iida were nominated before as Best Performance in a Song (whatever) in the Seiyuu Awards. But to be honest, I'm not happy nor sad about the result, parang wala lang. Probably because I'm not a fan of the song nor the pairing.

OCTOBER 2 DAY HIGHLIGHTS:

1. Be More - KENN as Dino
Hehe, since Hibari 'borrowed' his old hairstyle from Rebocon RED, KENN-nyan sported a shorter younger Dino-style do and captivated the audience. Yes I noticed it! But somehow I feel kinda lost in his performance here. I miss him dancing and during his TeniMyu days...

2. Burning Prayer - Masami Suzuki as Lal Mirch
Divang-diva ang lola moh in her shiny shimmery top, but what ruined her getup is her super baggy pants :P But powerful performance, though short, as expected from the badass semi-Arcobaleno's seiyuu.

3. Maboroshi no Arcobaleno - Rumi Shishido as Mammon/Viper
Rumi here is a living doll. Damn. She's so adorable from head to toe. Her cute kimono added her adorable powers, but I don't get any logic as to what use of taking them off to reveal her another cute prom-able gold chiffon mini-dress.

SONG COVERS:

1. Famiglia (original by D-51) - performed by Gokudera, Yamamoto and Ryohei -- a.k.a. The Three Idiot Guardians
THIS IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. Seriously. I was expecting a performance as cute and creative as Canvas and Yume no Manual but NO! Sorry, but of all performances in the whole DVD, THIS made me disappointed. I feel like I wanna see Team Lion (Reborn, Tsuna, Ryohei) performing this song again, which is waaaaaaaaaaay much better. They didn't do justice to their recorded version. I happen to love their cover of this ending, but.... WHY...?

2. gr8 story (original by SuG) - performed by Byakuran and Shoichi Irie
Now THIS is what I called 'true justice'. They didn't just deliver the song perfectly, they made it even better. No similar outfits, no gimmicks, just pure performing genius. My favorite of all the performance of covers.

3. Funny Sunny Day (original by SxOxU) - performed by Squalo, Bel and Luss -- PLUS XANXUS
Their performance is, as usual, 'Varia Quality' but to include Xanxus in the performance is surely funny. BECAUSE THE BOSS SAYS SO. LOL.

OCTOBER 2 DAY SONG BATTLE RANKING: The "I Can Feel Their Bond" Ranking!

TOP 5: Oretachi no JOY! R27 ver. (original by Gokudera and Yamamoto) - performed by Tsuna and Reborn
First Performed: Rebocon 3 (Nagoya?)
LOL Reborn as Gokudera and Tsuna as Yamamoto -- complete with respective signature props = winning performance! And for Yama, it's a double facepalm combo! I was laughing at how Neeko made an effort to lover her voice and to sound Gokudera-like at this performance, nyehehehehehe....

TOP 4: Tanoshiku Nacchau no Uta ~ Varia Quality ver. (Original by Lambo and I-Pin) - performed by Belphegor and Fran
First Performed: Rebocon BLUE
Shucks, too bad Fran wasn't there this time. I wonder if Yuuki was just unfortunate at that concert and two of his partners are usually not there. (Well Fran's and Mammon's seiyuus are both just guests in the respective performance schedule)

TOP 3: Kokugen Fighter ~ Sasagawa Kyodai version! - performed by Ryohei with Kyoko
First Performed: Rebocon 3
Of course! Why wonder that it made it to the third spot, their blending and stage bond was so enlightening and it makes you wanna sing with your brother or sister. Their matching outfits added the sweetness with a little punch! And since they are the hosts but performed on that part, Lambo read the voters' comments on their behalf. There was one comment that I understood a bit though: 'I like Kyoko. I don't like Ryohei. But when they sing together, I LOVE them,' or something like that. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL~!

TOP 2 AND TOP 1: Oretachi no Yakusoku ~ Namimori Dynamic version!
Another history has been created in this concert. Both the original and the 'song battle' version were performed simultaneously in one stage. It happened that the original version (5980) took the no. 2 spot while the top spot goes to the D18 version which was first performed in Rebocon RED, thus they performed first. At first they seem to contest which version is better until they sang together! DAMN! I'm no fan of yaoi ships but THIS was EPIC. Goddamn epicness. You really feel their bond in that song. They deserve the spots!

ENCORE SONG: Easy Go - original by Kazuki Kato
Dammit, if only he was present at that schedule it will be epic to see Kikyo singing that opening, along with the cast, of course. You're wondering where was he? Well...

PROMOTIONAL VIDEOS:

1. Believe in You - performed by (the legendary) Kazuhiko Inoue as Lightning Gamma
An official music video was made for this song, where Inoue-san was the lead along with a certain female assuming that SHE was Aria (just look at the girl's outfit, similar to Aria's!). Familiar elements were shown in this video to show his Gamma-ness (lol), such as his 'Aria' and the billiard table. He looks sleek in the video, I say. That made me wanna dare the production to make official PVs for the rest of the character songs! Sige nga! If that happens, I can die a happy fangirl.

2. Oh Kikyo! A Series of VTRs Starring Kazuki Kato as Kikyo
Three short VTRs where Kato greeted the fans were included in Disc 2, including some antics that he did before he formally greeted the audience, lol (it was not shown in the October 2 Night Concert). He was probably busy at other commitments that was why he couldn't attend but the VTR was enough to make the audience squeal at a glimpse of him.

EXTRAS: I couldn't elaborate all of them for it will take some time for me to remember them all and it will be an ultimate spoiler, so that's it. I can only say that backstage scenes were funnier and weirder. And as usual Yukari-chan cried at the end of their final performance.

That's all folks! Sorry if I didn't able to elaborate further but if I did, as I said, that will be the ultimate spoiler. And well, I can't tell you if they have ever mentioned about the rumored Second Season until someone with a big heart will be able to translate even the second disc, but with dam tight policies regarding copyright I doubt if someone will do it.

Oh well, if only my internet connection is strong enough to upload all of them on my MediaFire account, I'll be happy to do it, because I can't trust YouTube anymore.

Thus, the end of my Rebocon 5 report. This is Yer Friendly Neigborhood Banana, signing off.
