This weekend was difficult. Friday was a friend's retirements ceremony. I didn't kill Kevin about the directions. I did pad 25 min into our drive time. We did arrive 15 min late (after the colorguard but before the ceremony). I was kicking myself for not taking Mandie out of school to see it. She is Navy JROTC and would have loved it. I thought the ceremony would be longer and she would miss too much school. I believe in life experiences over public schools but the system is what it is. I still think I should have taken her.
Friday night I was up most of the night with fever. Saturday morning Mandie had a colorguard thing. Then, we missed the retirement party for Mike because we needed to get on the road to Gaffney in order to see Brendan in his play. The roads were rainy nasty. The play was very well done. This is the second play of his I have attended and the second play that I have attended fighting a fever. Bren played the boyfriend of a lesbian in Stop Kiss. The show was better than I expected considering his description of the play included "she-woman man-hater's club" descriptions. There wasn't a very flattering male character in the play. Bren is very talented though. I love seeing his plays.
My mother and stepfather went to the play also. We all went to coffee after the show. Then we hit the road to be back so that I could go to work in the morning. We had dinner at waffle house about 12:30 at night. We got home after 3. Amazingly I drove half of the way home. I was at work by 7am. I was in the urgent care center at 4pm Sunday.
The doc at the urgent care center put me on a 30 min nebulizer treatment and told me that if he couldn't hear air moving after that I was going to the hospital. My pulse/ox was bad too. Fortunately I'm not in the hospital. He ordered a home nebulizer for me. I'm having the hardest time getting all the meds/machine due to insurance and copay and deductables. This illness has cost a fortune so far. However the doc said do this or I AM going to be put in the hospital. Since the other guy in my office is out for surgery I think work would kill us both if we were both out at the same time.
Oh, I haz BLUE CARDS!!! Finally after over two years I finally finally (did I mention finally) got a blue card!
I have the design for the Undines I'm working on done. I think it will look spiff and very HRM Gerhild-like. I'm not showing pics until after Coronation though.
The glass symposium is June 12th in Harleyville. I'm looking for instructors for all types of glass work. E-mail me. I haven't heard back about Atlantia University credits yet but I am hoping.
Um, well, I should stop typing. None of this sounds as restful as I should be and I keep thinking of stuff I need to do as I type.
Like Hidden Mountain 25th year feast plans and e-mails. I'll save that for tomorrow.
