The last few weeks have been a whirlwind. My Grandmother passed away so we had to leave Derby night to go to New York. I am so sad about it because she really was the sweetest person I have ever met. I never saw her get angry. Not once. She was so wise and understanding and I am having a hard time fathoming that she isn't here anymore. I know she is in Heaven with Papa and that that is where she wanted to be. I miss them both so much.
We came home from New York and had a week of vacation in which we had to replace the roof due to hail damage and finally met with the refinance people and got the house refinanced. We got a much better interest rate and if we make the same payments we have been, we will have it paid off in 15 years. My dad has my Papa's old car so Roger was over at my parent's house working on the car to get it in good running condition. So we didn't have any time to ourselves to relax and do what we wanted to do.
I haven't seen my precious nephew in over a month and it's killing me. I had to cancel dinner the other night because my sweet husband's skills are both a blessing and a curse. He is such a good person and will fix anything for anyone at any time.
I have been working so much overtime at Shively and shifts at St. Matthews that I have worked 9 days straight and have 4 more to go before I get a day off. Someone at Shively has been on vacation every single week since May 1st and St. Matthews has literally lost 1/2 their dispatchers for the time being. Trying to help by filling in for everyone that is out is really draining me.
In between all this work, Roger and I are moving rooms in the house. We are taking the upstairs spare bedroom and downstairs craft room and switching them to make room for my brother-in-law who is moving in with us again. Roger redid the downstairs bathroom for him so he will have his own room and full bathroom. Roger re-painted the entire room, installed a shower door, installed an exhaust fan and wired it in to the light switch. I got a new bath mat and new towels for him. The bed frame we have is too big and wouldn't fit through the door frame to the basement so we had to put the mattress and box springs on the floor. But he has bedding, a chifferobe, night stand, lamp and alarm clock, so hopefully he will be comfortable. I think my dogs think that bed is theirs though!
Hopefully, I will not get sucked into working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and can enjoy my days off with my hubby and hopefully get to see my bestie and nephew!!
