Tutorial : Flower Motif #2
Level : Advance

Warning : Heavy pictures under cut.

In this tutorial, we are going to do this flower motif.

The design and pattern I took from 'My Beads Style #2'. The pattern can be found in this ENTRY.

What you need :
- 6 Swarovski Flower 8 mm.
- 12 Swarovski Bicone 5 mm.
- 18 Swarovski Bicone 4 mm.
- 6 Swarovski Spacer Bead 5 mm.
- Seed beads
- Nylon coated thread no. 20.

NOTE : I give you the equipment exactly from the book and also my explanation in this tutorial. But in my photo, the flower crystals I used is 10 or 12 mm. I'm not sure. I change from bicone 5 mm. to 4 mm. and bicone 4 mm. to 3 mm. due to my limited stock. Haha.

If you use the equipment exactly as stated, just ignore my note.

1.

Cut the nylon thread around 60 - 70 cm. String the five spacer beads and join both ends with one spacer bead.

2.

Add 4 mm bicone crystal, flower crystal, seed bead, 5 mm. bicone crystal and seed bead.

NOTE : As I said before, I have limited supplies of 5 mm. so in the photo, I change to 4 mm.

3.

Pick up the other line, add one 4 mm. bicone crystal. Join both lines by a flower crystal (red arrow).

4.

Now, string the line back into the bicone crystal (red arrow) and through the spacer bead (blue arrow).

5.

Pick up the other line, add seed bead, 5 mm. bicone crystal, and seed bead.

And repeat Step 3 - 4 -5. around the motif.

6.

String until the last flower bead, put the string back into the bicone crystal, spacer bead, bicone crystal (red arrow) and first flower crystal (blue arrow).

7.

Add seed bead to both lines and join them with a 5 mm. bicone crystal.

NOTE : In the photo, I change to 4 mm.

8.

Turn the motif, this is the back of the motif. You will see 5 mm crystals and the seed beads. String the lines through all these crystals and beads. Pull the lines tight. It will become a circle.

9.

Now, add 4 mm. bicone crystal, seed bead, 5 mm. bicone crystal and seed bead.

NOTE : In my photo, I change from 4 mm. to 3 mm. and 5 mm. to 4 mm.

10.

Join both lines by 4 mm. bicone crystal.

NOTE : In my photo, I use 3 mm.

11.

Put the thread into the seed beads (red arrow and blue arrow).

12.

Pick up the other line, add seven seed beads. Join both lines by 4 mm. bicone crystal.

NOTE : In my photo, I use 3 mm.

13.

Put the string back into bicone crystal (red arrow). The other line, add seed bead, 5 mm. bicone crystal and seed bead. Join both lines by a 4 mm. bicone crystal.

NOTE : In my photo, I change from 5 mm. to 4 mm. and 4 mm. to 3 mm.

14.

Now, repeat step 11 - 12 -13 around the motif. You will end both lines at the first crystal (red arrow).

String the lines back into your work, tie them together tightly.

I mark this project advance because it's quite difficult to put the line back into the bead in some angles. The pattern is not difficult but it's quite confusing when you do it for real.

Enjoy beading, as always.
