my new obsession

I've been keeping a food journal for several months now, as a way to be more aware of what I eat.  It was very successful for a while, but then I fell off the wagon.  In the news recently it was said that people who keep them lose more weight than their non-journaling diet counterparts.  I decided I really needed to get back on the horse.  This time I'm going for more than just writing things down (or typing things in).  I'm counting grams of protein, carbs, fiber, etc.  www.thedailyplate.com has quite the database of foods and helps me log EVERYTHING.  If you want it to, it will tell you how many calories to consume based on your height and weight.  You can have it help you gain, lose, maintain, etc.  I've never been a calorie counter myself, but I do want to see how much protein i'm getting in versus carbs, fat, etc.  It's totally educational...if you want it to be.
