Beach volleyball World Tour statistics

It is easy to find statitics at bvbinfo.com. It looks really interesting. Here is only part of it - FIVB events and CEV events.

Two things to remember: Year and season are different things since 2016 (the season ends with WT Final). All (1-5) star events are included  in 2017 and 2018; bvbinfo includes OG and WCh in the total number of FIVB events.

It was interesting to see how the World tour was changing. At first all events were plaid in the Double Elimination format. Then Pools+Playoff appeared for Grand Slams in 2007. Then they cancelled Double elimination in 2013. In 2017 they introduced Single Elimination  format for most events. We have calculated total number of matches plaid in World Tour events per year. We added a column with  number of players with WT ranking based on bvbinfo data (I am not sure if it is World Tour ranking or World ranking - there were changes made in 2013? ).
We did not take into account WT Final, WC and OG because of special regulations for participation in these events.

Besides that they have changed number of teams in Qualification. It was 64 teams at Opens in 2012, 32 teams  at Opens in 2016. Since this year we have 24 teams in Qualification at 5 star events, 16 teams at 3-4*, NO QUALIFICATION for 1-2 star events.

And the last table is taken from Handbook 2017

It would have been interesting to see how money changed from year to year, but it doesn't influenced fans directly ))

Maybe there are reasons why FIVB makes this changes, but we haven't seen them (maybe we just missed it).
