Volleyball England are pleased to announce that the Northern European Volleyball Zonal Association (NEVZA) Beach Volleyball Championships will take place at the indoor beach facility at LeAF Academy in Bournemouth from December 5-7, 2014.
International beach athletes from England, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland will take part in the final NEVZA beach event to take place in Europe this year.
CEV President Mr André Meyer says: “It is fantastic that the final NEVZA Zonal Beach Volleyball competition of 2014 will take place at the indoor beach facility, LeAF Academy in Bournemouth, England over the weekend of 5th-7th December 2014. This will be the fourth international event hosted by Volleyball England this year and we are very pleased to see the English Federation being more active within the CEV community. The CEV wishes all the participating athletes the best of luck.”
The event will feature players that have competed on the World Tour and will give some of the most talented athletes in England an opportunity to compete on home soil against some very experienced international players.
Annetta Minard, Executive Principal LeAF Academy, says: “We are very proud to be hosting international Beach Volleyball at the centre in December. Our young high performance players are looking forward to watching some of the best teams in Europe in action. Building on the success of the CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup in June, this is yet another opportunity for members of the local community to share in the excitement of Beach Volleyball. We warmly welcome our visitors to the LeAF Campus.”
The Championships will feature England’s rising stars Jake Sheaf and Chris Gregory (pictured). “This has been an amazing season for us so far and playing on the international circuit has been an amazing experience. We hope to continue our good progress with our ultimate aim of competing at the Olympics in Rio. We would like to thank our sponsors Balfour Beatty, Viper 10 Sports and Nourishment Active, friends and families for their support and look forward very much to competing in Bournemouth with other English athletes on home soil.”
