While waiting for J to get off work, I took Henry to Toys R Us the other day, and I found something I absolutely adore. It is the
Razor Powerwing. It was sooo much fun to ride; Henry and I really had to use a great deal of patience to allow each other to take turns on the thing.
Yes, I know it looks dorky.
Now, however, I have discovered something that I crave even more. Obsessive-like craving even. I dreamed of riding it last night. I truly, madly, deeply want a Trikke.
Perhaps even dorkier. Don't tell the Trikke people that, though, as they have fairly harsh words for CKOs (Trikke-speak for Cheap Knock-Offs). They do have some good reasons for the criticism: obviously, the Powerwing isn't made to do what the Trikke does. It's a toy. But I can't begrudge Razor on that point, as I happen to be quite the fan of toys. Regardless.
If you haven't seen one of these, there are tons of YouTube videos of Trikkes in action. Many are hilarious.
This would be so great for getting to the bus stop, and much easier to cart around than my bicycle on the trains. Not to mention, folded? I can probably get it to fit into my art-supply locker at school, though I'll probably have to remove the handlebars to do so.
I'm really wanting to take one out for a test ride now! I know I will look like a dork, which is something coming from someone who cannot resist laughing at rollerbladers. But I waaaaant it!
So who wants to help me mod this thing into a glorious Jules Verne contraption when I get my hands on it? If I do get one, I think I may have found yet another excuse to hang out in the Sculpture Forum!
