I love my college. I love the people here, I love the weather, I love my classes, I love the atmosphere. We are the perfect blend of hippies, political activists, artsy-fartsy types, and party people. When people are sober they run throughout the quad screaming in their boxers. When people are drunk they have discussions about ethics and their favorite words.
I feel more at home here than I ever did back home. I miss 4 things: 3 of them are individuals, 1 is the ocean. If I could take those 4 things with me here I would never leave.
I'm learning to ballroom dance. My coach is a babe.
Since I got here I've taken up sitting in the quad on a blanket under a tree playing guitar with my hair down and a couple friends reading in the grass, random "dance parties" to The Shins and 60's rock, and reading Ginsberg and Karouac. I have also been asked "what's up with the Annie Hall look," considered joining the Oenology Club, and my breakfast of choice is coffee and a croissant. I love my dichotomy.
I need to go shopping for dance gear, food, and gloves so i can dye my hair. I need to call my mother before she has surgery on Wednesday. I need to write a paper comparing a couple biblical passages. I need to get Rob to call Mallory. I need to go practice with Rob. I need to call Tyler, its been a while.
"Alas never to know the end of th euniverse when the last star folds into the last thought."
Alan Ginsberg
