so today at work, the building (big old factory) shook, and then we heard a loud bang. i assumed it was a wreck on the freeway running beside the store, but i looked outside and there was nothing there. so i forgot about it and then one of my coworkers said over the radio that there was an explosion like 5 or 6 blocks away. so i started listening to the radio, and apparently, there was an explosion in a manhole! a manhole cover flew up in the air a couple stories and landed on a car! oh my god, and there were 3 or 4 subsequent (different) manhole explosions in the same area. we didn't feel those ones though. they must not have been as huge. and then when we got home, there were tornado warnings, but all we got was a huge enormous 10-minute thunderstorm. pshaw. crazy.
here's a link to the story, and there's video of one of the explosions, but i can't get it to play on the computer, so i don't know what it looks like it.
