lost but not forgotten , down but far from out
utah was freakin awesome.
even though it feels so good to be home and able to take a shower again, utah was so much fun :)
i think we hiked about eight or nine miles a day..
friday we didn't really do anything except go grocery shopping and set up our tents and all that.
saturday we went to bryce canyon which was amazing.
the hike was pretty hard and near the top it was totally snow but it was definately worth it.
sunday we went canyoneering which was sweet!
we hiked up to this waterfall and took turns pulling ourselves on a harness a hundred feet in the air to get to the top of the waterfall and then repelling down it.
it was definately a once in a life time thing that i'm so happy i got to do :)
going down the waterfall wasn't all that bad except that i got my ropes twisted so i couldn't go down fast at all and then it started snowing like crazy and i was already freezing cold from going across the water to help set everything up.
oh and then after that we got to go to a laundromat to dry some of our stuff up from the canyoneering thing.
and i got to pet an elk. it was sweet. haha
monday we hiked up to angel's landing. once we got to the part where you could decided to hike up the rest of it or turn back, we decided to split up and one group go up the rest of it and the others go mountain biking.
since i'm deathly afraid of heights, i decided to go mountain biking along with everyone from the o.a team plus temi.
the mountain biking was totally what i wasn't expecting. i was expecting a trail going through the mountains. instead, it was total mountain biking. it was challenging but really fun and the scenery was awesome.
tuesday we packed up all our stuff and went for one last hike that was suppose to lead us to these three ponds.
we hiked for about what seemed like a hour until we gave up since we kept taking wrong turns and couldn't find where the three ponds were. we hiked back to the vans and then went to the airport.
me and kari had a sweet time on the plane ride back. we sat next to this guy who had really long arm hair. seriously, it was like four inches long.
we wrapped our heads up in bandages and wrote postcards and notes to dougherty, fitzner, steph & ariane.
the guys in front of us were the same three that sat in front of us on the way to vegas too which was kinda weird but funny.
they got pretty mad at us since we kept throwing the notes to eachother and a certain someone kept missing and it would hit them..
:p
oh and i almost forgot, steph got held up at the security place on friday when we were at the airport going to vegas. they wanded her, searched her and everything.
haha it was a great way to start the trip off
but anyways, i know this is an extremely long entry but i'll have some pictures posted up soon of everything :)
