Alice Fic: "Life as a Tea Tray"

A/N: Another fluffy little ficlet. I'm working on a massive multichap (with angst and adventure and everything!), and there are all these scenes that fall off the wagon. Trying to keep them from going to waste. :)

When Alice got home that day, Hatter was in a mood. A horrible, don't-talk-to-me-or-Im-liable-to-snap-your-head-off mood.
She could tell because he was watching his favorite brooding show: Spongebob Squarepants.
So she made him a cup of his favorite tea, just a touch of cream how he liked it, balanced it on a saucer (something he only did on special occasions as he was so prone to breaking them) and held it out to him from the side of the couch without a word. He looked up from the tv and she saw his eyes soften just a touch as he reached out and took the handle of the teacup.
All of a sudden, he caught her other wrist and pulled her onto the couch, where she let herself fall back into a perfect arch across his lap. Hatter calmly took the saucer from her hand and balanced it on her stomach. He sipped his (miraculously unspilled) tea and placed it back on the saucer, eyes once again on the brightly flashing television while one hand curled in her hair.
She hadn't intended to be a tea tray, but when she saw his face relax and felt his hands exploring, Alice decided she wouldn't have had it any other way.
