Because everything is better with Edmund, which is saying something as everything is also better with Ianto before RTD went and OFF’D him. Right then. Well first off, thanks for the hail, but really, all I did was sit at the other end of the Internet connection saying, “Oh really, 1,000 words? Well, that’s terrific, Be. But, is there coffee?” “2,000 words? Good for you, Be, but is there coffee and a neck tie yet?”
On to the many things I adore which shall sound awfully lot like fangrl squee
When they go into the bar, and Edmund changes his seat so he too can have a back to a wall. So Edmund!
And then, just when they are both getting drunk, TIME LOOP! Brilliant!
Edmund’s terrifying grin or we won’t have any allies left! Oh yes, we have the snarky, dangerous Edmund. And then, Edmund going all Narnia, with And yes, they are. Intelligent enough to lead entire armies, scary enough to keep them in order. They're multitaskers like that." That was my favorite line until Edmund goes to the Hub ( ... )

Everything is better with TIME LOOPS, mwahahahahaha!! And Edmund has been irritating the right people, Ianto likes watches, minotaurs are multitaskers! Edmund's terrifying grin! Diplomacy on the minotaur -- yeah, that was never going to work, and he's probably lucky Peter wasn't there to see it. Punching Jack! Oh, he so deserved that. And Edmund loving that the archive was organized, oh yes. And minotaurs not liking to be shot at, no one saw THAT coming.
I'm just surprised it took them that many loops to end up in Ianto's apartment. Especially what with the beer.
And just WHAT is Edmund's job? My god, scary scary thought.

EVERYTHING IS BETTER WITH TIME LOOPS. also Edmund. and Ianto. Edmund could make a career out of irritating the right people! lol, Peter would have laughed at him for YEARS. (he did, as a matter of fact, the one other time Edmund tried it. "And then he said! he said 'I'm sure this can all be sorted out without loss of life!'" Peter says, almost crying with laughter, and Susan and Lucy snicker as Edmund turns bright red. 'It bought us the time we needed!' he protests, and they just laugh harder.)
hahahaha. I was actually a little bit surprised myself, but Ianto just came off of the whole Lisa mess and sleeping with Jack to stay in Torchwood, so he was a bit wary about sex.
Edmund's job is very fuzzy, but I'm getting more details (because seriously what the heck why I do have a draft email saved with ~750 words of a sequel in it? why?). it involves free lance alien hunting, time travel of an unidentified nature, and Edmund being badass. you know, like he does.

Edmund's glee over Ianto's filing system gives me so much glee as well. Oh Edmund. Oh Ianto. Glee glee glee.
And - I love the Calormene vase that probably belonged to a judge, because, well, 'justice' of course connects to Edmund for me, and that was just super awesome. Rift archaeology/linguistics/minotaur-fighting....WAY TOO COOL.
THIS FIC MAKES ME SO HAPPY, BE!!

FILING SYSTEMS, WEEEE! rift archaeology! Edmund and Ianto are both firm believers in actually learning about other cultures using this, while the others are like GUNS GUNS GUNS (with the occasional BOMB or PULSE GENERATOR or OMG ELECTROCUTION DEVICE thrown in), and in that respect I think both of them would have gotten along so so well with Suzie, who from the small bits of her we see and the later references was much more interested in the small things than the rest are.
THANK YOUUUUUU. <333

why do I do this to myself? why?
I'm glad you liked it, though! Ianto + Edmund is like, awesomeness squared, or something.
