+ agh, my dad is so frustrating. I'm not even going into what happened earlier, because RAAAAAGE, but then he flipped completely in the space of an hour, and on the way home from puppets he was all 'let's watch the Matrix and eat TV dinners and get lots of chocolate!' and I was sitting in the car going, "I'M SORRY I CAN'T CHANGE MOODS THAT FAST ( Read more... )

real life, the matrix, movies

IT IS IT IS. and it does sound like the other movies aren't nearly as good, which is kind of really sad. D: and heeee! that would be because I never suggested it, because I didn't know whether or not my parents would be okay with me watching it, or if it would be one of the times my dad decided that ALL MOVIES ARE EVIL. so I never brought it up, and I never knew that it was this awesome.

THE MATRIX IS AMAZING. I love that movie. Don't watch the sequels. Save yourself. Preserve the image of the awesomeness.

I'm thinking I shall have to not watch the sequels, because they don't sound good at all. it is sad. :( but OMG the awesomeness of the first one makes up for that! it is FABULOUS.

I remember enjoying the sequels but they definitely do not live up to the first movie. They are fate-oriented, and I actually like the whole Neo-Savior thing...but you sound like you wouldn't :p
But I hear the Animatrix is very artsy cool.

Hmmm. I'll use this as an excuse to rewatch the whole trilogy for a second opinion ;)

It sounds like I wouldn't enjoy the sequels for various reasons, so I shall simply stick to the AWESOME first one. :D

(haha, you should do it.)

I can hardly remember the Matrix movies. The last time I saw the first one was, like, around the time it first came out and I just remember creepy worm-like things crawling into people's belly buttons. :\

omg you have to rewatch the first one! it is FABULOUS. and yeah, the bug part is all really creepy, but that actually doesn't last very long. and the rest of the movie is so so awesome. wheeee!

Sums up the whole thing pretty nicely.
I wouldn't advise watching the sequels - if you must enjoy them for the shiny effects, but at best they can be summed up as really, really stupid fun. It's actually got kind of an ambiguous uplifting ending but the whole thing ends kind of...meh. (I once spent a 22-hour flight across the Pacific watching Matrix Revolutions three times in a row and was heartily sick of it by the end. The alternative was Cheaper By The Dozen 2, though.)

heee, I remember that comic! I'm starting to think it's true - I'll probably never watch the sequels. that is sad, though, that they're not very good. :(

ahahah! yeah, I'd rather watch anything Matrix than Cheaper by the Dozen too.
