Someone said recently that Uhura was 'just the love interest' in the Trek reboot, which irritated me a great deal. I wrote a bit of a rant/essay on women characters and then discovered that voila! sarahtales had done it better! so go read it if you haven't already! (since it's been making a lot of the rounds, there's a strong chance you have.)

You guys, this Read more... )

lsasfdkljsdf skandar! every time I see him I go, "guh, please stop being so much younger than me!" I particularly love his shirt in the last picture. Actually I love his everything in that one. waist! cuffs! stare! yeah, he needs no explaining.

Raisin bread is my FAVORITE. yummmmm. I have never made bread, but I can only imagine it would be the most delicious thing ever. And those quesadillos sound awesome too.

That Peter/Susan picture (well, I guess Will/Anna because they are not in character?) is SO ADORABLE. they are all young and sweet! I have given up feeling guilty about shipping Peter/Susan. hear hear to your defense!

SKANDAR ahlsdkjglsdkfh;jhgkdsjf HE IS MY AGE. It's a shame I'll probably never meet him, because I'm pretty sure we'd get along like a house on fire, even if he wasn't so insanely handsome.

RAISIN BREADDD! It's lots of fun to make from scratch, especially when you're stressed/angry/upset because kneading is like physical therapy or something. It makes you feel loads better.

THEY ARE SO AWESOME TOGETHER! And yeah, I've pretty much given up feeling guilty. If people judge me for it, I will shove my hand in their face and make them read Peter/Susan fic. LOTS OF IT. *evil glee*

LUCKY DUCK <3 And do not say you will probably never meet him, because you neeever knowwww! What if he decides to do a movie that films where you live? I am sure there are movies about this sort of love story :))

Awesome. I need to try this. If I made my own raisin bread, life would be perfect.

heeee! My town actually has had at least two movies filmed in it, and they're filming one downtown right now (or were Saturday, at least). But I am moving to England, so!

I can give you the recipe I use, if you want, and if you have problems I might know how to fix them (and if I don't, my mom will. She has been making bread from scratch for a long, long time. She used to even grind her own wheat! Then our grinder broke. D:)

Wow, moving to England! When? Where? Exciting!

Could I have the recipe? I've never made bread before but I think my mom has, so she'd be able to help me some. I am super impressed by how hardcore your mom is in the kitchen :D wheat grinding! awesome!

It's more of a plan than an actuality at the moment, but I'm crossing my fingers that I can take a gap year once I graduate highschool and find a job in England for a year before taking college (with a semester or year abroad in England or Europe hopefully) and then moving to England, if I'm still as much in love with it as I am now. (which is likely)

I'm not at home right now, but I shall message it to you soon! (maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow afternoon.) yeah, my mom's pretty awesome. *proud* we actually still have two buckets of wheat from when the grinder broke, and she's used mixes maybe twice in her life, while feeding anywhere from three to eight people for 26 years. um. I may be really, really proud of her.

That sounds really cool! I hope it works out for you! My brother is actually thinking of going to college in England. He hasn't planned much for it, or even found a school there to apply to, but he talks about it. It seems like a really great idea if what you want is to go to England. Sometimes I think I should've spent more effort trying to go abroad to South America considering how bad I want it. so you should totally go for it, so I can live through you vicariously ;)

You certainly have reason to be proud! Moms are amazing, they really are.
