I think messy is a good way to put it. I mean, even the premise is kind of messy? Like, who are they reporting to, what is the *point* of Torchwood exactly, why are there only five of them, how do they prioritize? It made some sense to me when I assumed the rest of the team had been Cybermanned and Jack had wormed his way in, but apparently that wasn't how it went.

Yeah, I get that! I just...idk, I don't even think I'd be interested in his development.

Yeah, that's fair! I guess it just worked for me in context. Rhys/Gwen in general was weird for me, because I didn't really believe in the relationship I saw? But then they obviously cared for each other, it was just that the stress was there, but then it was like SHOW ME MORE THAN THE STRESS SHOW.

Also, I really enjoy the Torchwood/DW thing where friendships blur the romantic line (Gwen and Jack), and relationships are expressed sexually when they are not about sex (Owen/Gwen), and epic OTP romances are not sexual (Rose/Doctor). Idk! I appreciate that on a meta level. Also, there's some gender bending that I like--Gwen and Jack having the typical would-be-slashed bromance thing, Rhys being the typical girlfriend, Ianto the typical love interest in some ways?

UUuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. I...yeah, idk, I have a hard time seeing that they'd be able to put a pedophile on as a protagonist. Like. Right? RIGHT?

Yeah, it ... doesn't have a very good premise either, really. I think it's really a shame, because I feel like I could have loved ALL the characters and genuinely enjoyed watching it had everything been handled better. *shakes fist at RTD*

I do like the whole relationships being not "traditional" thing. :D It is kind of cool and refreshing.

I... don't really know. He's definitely a main character, he has his own "introduction" vid along with all the other main characters, and the idea of that makes me want to punch RTD in the face. FUCK HIM.

So far, creepy evil guy seems creepy and evil, not like he's joining them? I don't think he's going to be a team member, it seems like they're using him to explore the ~dark side~ of the miracle, or something.

(I am kind of enjoying the new season? LOOK I JUST REALLY ENJOYED SEEING GWEN SHOOT THINGS AND HOLD HER BABY.)
