Seems a load more rumours going about 1st is that Doctor Who next series will be spilit in 2 read more
I personnally really like this idea although I know it would drive me insane wanting for the next part.
"Apparently, there are rumblings that spring 2010 will only see the transmission of the first six episodes of the eleventh Doctor's debut series. The show would then take a break until around October, at which time the BBC would broadcast the remain seven episodes. A Christmas special would then close out the year."
No - please don't have a massive break. This year has been bad enough! and no to Christmas/new year/easter/halloween/valentine's day episodes! When they plan these episodes, they use all the sterotypical and OTT things to bring in more of any audience; resulting in a rushed and ridiculas plot!

there's also a rumor that the show is looking for a male companion to travel alongside Matt Smith and Karen Gillan for five or six episodes in 2010. Supposedly Sam Troughton auditioned for the role and didn't get it - but now it's narrowed down to Dean Kelly (who played Shakespeare in season three) and someone named Liam Boyle.
Would Dean kelly be playing a different part? I presume so. Well, he was great in seires 3 and Being Human, but would he look too old next to Matt? Don't know who the other guys are...
