Title: Cat-Man Thing
Pairing: Jungkook/Yoongi(Suga)
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Still not claiming these as mine even though I've been writing most sex about them for a few months.
Summary: Jungkook is thrown somewhere different. But Yoongi is the same. Mostly. He just has ears and a tail now.
Genre: Catboy: Suga, Joon, Jin, and Hobi are all cats.
Warning: lots of fluffy stuff
Jungkook is walking along, minding his own business, listening to his headphones and just normally not paying attention to anything more than his normal walk to school. He’s got enough time to stop and get a coffee luckily. He was awake too long last night recording a new cover.
Everything is normal.
And then everything whooshes, and Jungkook feels like he’s spinning and then he’s on his feet again and he’s staring at rocks and trees and ...
Someone.
Something?
“Not again,” a voice says to his left.
Jungkook turns his head to see a tall man. With ears. And a tail. He’s dressed in ... a jumpsuit? Definitely one piece with buttons down the front. Jungkook doesn’t really know, but it’s pink. And the man he has ears. And a tail. There’s a door in the tree? A big tree, just beyond the man ... person-creature ... thing standing and looking at him in shock.
“Joon! You forgot to close a portal again!” he shouts.
There’s a thump from up, and Jungkook looks up. He expects to see buildings and a blue sky and ... well, not trees, taller than the buildings in Seoul, and not a purple sky, and not a bright pink moon. It’s not dark. It’s light enough to be day, but everything feels soft.
Like a soft pink sweater, and Jungkook thinks, Well, this is weird.
“Are you okay?”
He turns to the man-creature. Or person-creature. He shouldn’t assume gender at a time like this. Their eyes are green and slitted, like Jimin’s calico cat.
“I don’t know,” Jungkook finally says. His voice sounds the same. That’s good, right? “Am I dead?”
“Not at all. But you’re still standing and coherent, so that’s better than most humans that fall into the Other Side.”
“The Other Side.”
“It’s another dimension. An exact mirror of your Earth, but--” They turns their hands so the backs are together.
“Wow. Um, okay. Pretty sure I stepped off a curb and got hit by a truck and now I’m in a coma, but okay. I’ll play along. My name is Jeon Jungkook.”
They chuckle. “Hi, Jungkook. I’m Jin.”
“You mentioned Joon.”
Jin smiles in fondness. “The most brilliant, clumsy, scattered-brained kitten on this side.”
“Kitten?” Jungkook says and waves at Jin’s ears.
“Yes, in this dimension we are built a lot like humans but we have some feline features.”
“So you’re still a guy?”
Jin smiles. “I have male genitalia and identify as male, so, yes.”
“That’s kinda cool. I watch a shit-ton of anime about this kind of thing. Do you lose the ears and tail when you have sex?”
Jin laughs. “Definitely not! That would be painful!”
“So a portal.”
“Yes, Joon is brilliant and knows how to make them, but he has a tendency to forget about them.”
As if on cue, another cat scrambles over to him, waves a hand over his head, and just as Jin opens his mouth to protest, there’s a spark of blue and Jungkook is showered by blue glitter.
“Wait--Joon!” Jin smacks his shoulder. “Now you can’t send him back! And he was doing really well.”
Joon suddenly notices Jungkook, eyes going wide and the pupils going large. The purple ears on his head stand up straight and then flatten. His purple tail waves almost violently behind him.
“This is Jungkook. He fell through your portal. I was about tell him to jump and go back home. You complete--”
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’ll make another one right now.”
“If you think, for even one minute, of using that amount of magic again today, I am going to declaw you. With chopsticks.”
Joon winces and hides his hands in the pockets of his yellow jumper. “I’m sorry. I'm sorry.” He turns to Jungkook. “I’m sorry.”
Jungkook gives him a half smile and says, “Hey, no problem. I doubt you’re the dude that hit me with a truck.”
Joon frowns. “What?”
“He thinks he’s in a coma from being hit by a truck. Shut up. It’s a coping mechanism.” Jin smiles at him again. “Joon won’t be able to create another portal for another day or two. I am terribly sorry. Will you be okay to stay here for a day? I have food if you’re hungry.”
Jungkook shrugs. “I’m sure a coma will last longer than a day, but hey, I get out of chemistry lectures for a little while. So yeah, sure. I am kinda hungry. I didn’t have time for breakfast. I was going to grab a muffin at the cafe.”
Jin smiles at him and then glares at Joon. “Get your magic reserves recharging, Joon.”
“Already on it,” he says and spins on a foot and darts away.
Jin smiles at Jungkook. “I live right here. So let’s go inside and I’ll find you some food.”
A tree. Jin lives in the tree. The one with the door. It’s a heavy wooden door that swings open at a strong push. The tree is huge and the oval room is open and well lit with windows cut high above him. There’s a staircase that winds up higher into the tree.
“Would you like some tea, Jungkook?”
“Sure. Why not?”
Jin leads him to the right, toward what is obviously a kitchen. There is another cat-person standing in the kitchen cradling a cup of something steaming.
“Ah, Suga, finally awake, I see. You abuse the cat nap privilege far more than anyone else I know.”
This cat has blond ears and a blond and mint green striped tail that is bushier than Jin’s. His clothes look mostly the same, a weird jumper of pale blue that has a hole for his tail and buttons all down the front.
It’s very different than the tight holey jeans, oversized fluffy sweater and beanie that Jungkook usually sees the man wearing.
But not man? Cat thing? Human?
Jungkook can deal with the trees and the purple sky and pink moon. He can also deal with sweet fruit and ears and tails.
But this ... this ...
Everything is so tactile that part of his brain knows this is real. Part of his brain knows that he’s not in a coma, that he’s in another fucking dimension, but it’s pretty easy to pretend. It’s a nice world and the cat-humans are very accomodating. Nothing like Jimin’s cat.
So he can deal with all of that. It’s easy to think it’s just a dream.
But this ... this ...
“Yoongi-hyung?” Jungkook whispers.
And the cat-man glances over at him, eyes wide in surprise. “Jungkookie?”
Yep. That does it. Because Jungkook had his lips pressed against Yoongi’s just two days ago, and Yoongi had pulled away when he tried to pull him closer and he’d declined when Jungkook asked him to come up to his apartment. They’ve been on five dates. More than that if you count sitting at the cafe and Yoongi encouraging him about his music. They’ve been talking and getting to know each other and Jungkook has been falling in love for almost six months.
With a cat-man thing.
Jungkook faints.
>(^-^)<
When Jungkook wakes up, his first thought is wondering how he can wake up in a dream while he’s in a coma.
His second thought is that this isn’t a coma and he’s in a weird dimension full of cat-people things.
His head hurts.
Someone is moaning.
Oh, that’s him.
A cool cloth touches his forehead.
“Kookie?”
Jungkook opens his eyes and looks over to the cat-man thing sitting by his bed.
Suga. That’s what Jin had called him.
But Jungkook knows him as Min Yoongi.
And Jungkook knows him as a human without cat ears and a tail.
The small smile on his lips is the same. The soft, adoring look in his eyes is the same. The touch of his hand is the same.
“What the fuck, hyung?” Jungkook demands.
Yoongi chuckles. “Back story, huh?”
“Please.” Jungkook tries not to be demanding.
“I like coffee. We don’t have it here.”
Jungkook snorts. “Really?”
“Yeah, that’s ... that’s pretty much it. Joon makes portals, lets me slip through them. That’s why I don’t always respond to your texts. It’s mostly because I can’t because I’m here. But lately, I just ... I stay in your dimension for too long, Jin says. He’s worried about me, but I didn’t tell him about you and so now they now that we’ve been dating, and Jin is upset but Joon thinks it’s sweet, and Hobi is dying to meet you.”
Jungkook sighs. “I was wondering why the fuck you always wear a beanie and a hoody when it’s ass-hot degrees outside.”
Yoongi smiles. “You’re not mad?”
Jungkook shakes his head. “I’m not mad.”
“I’m so glad that you know, that you came here. I was working on how to break up with you before ... I really ...” His cheeks pink. “But I didn’t want to. You understand why I pull away, why I keep saying no? Why I’ve been low-key rejecting your advances for the last few weeks.”
Jungkook snorts. “Low-key bullshit, hyung.”
“Yeah, okay. So outright, but I couldn’t let you ... I wanted you ...”
“To stay hidden, yes. I understand, hyung. But now?”
Yoongi bites his lip. “Now ... well, I don’t know. I don’t know what to do with all the possibilities.” His ears are twitchy and his nose is scrunching up like it does when he’s trying to figure out a complicated beat.
“Is all this real?” He reaches his hand up and then stops, fingers just barely not touching his ears.
“Yes,” Yoongi says and lifts his head up into the touch, and Jungkook pets an ear, rubs the soft velvety fur between his fingers. Yoongi shivers.
A soft rumbling fills the room, and it takes Jungkook a moment to realize that Yoongi is purring.
“So your name is Suga?” Jungkook whispers.
“Yeah, here it is. I do go by Min Yoongi in your dimension.”
“Suga,” Jungkook says and lets his hand move down his face. “Cute.”
Yoongi blushes and a soft yowl fills the room. “Yah. The disrespect.”
Jungkook laughs. “Shut up, hyung. You love it.”
“I don’t.”
But the blush on his cheeks says otherwise.
“Are you okay? Does your head hurt?” Yoongi asks, moving closer. Jungkook doesn’t stop him and just encourages him, pulling him onto the bed with him.
Yoongi’s smile widens as he settles against Jungkook’s chest, head tucked under his chin. His tail waves behind him. Contentment. Comfort. The soft tufts of his ears tickle Jungkook’s neck.
Jungkook hugs Yoongi with one arm and lets the other trial up and down Yoongi’s back. The purring increases.
“I like you, Jungkookie.”
“I really like you too, hyung.” Jungkook hums. “I get it, hyung. It’s fine. Can you stay with me? I’m still kind of tired.”
“Yeah. A nap sounds really nice.”
“A nap with you sounds even nicer.”
“Hm, it does.”
Jungkook relaxes and lets his movements slow. Suga is asleep before him, and it makes him smile.
>(^-^)<
When Jungkook wakes up a second time, he’s too warm and the thrumming around him is too loud. Like a heavy bass, he can feel it in his heart. It takes a few moments to remember that he is not in a coma, that he is not home, and that he has probably missed an important math test.
But the warmth and the noise are from the cat laying on his chest.
Jungkook smiles. “So worth missing a math test,” he whispers and moves a little to stretch his back.
Suga wakes up and lifts his head, blinking his blue, slitted eyes, and it’s the cutest thing ever. Suga must wear contacts in Jungkook’s dimension.
Jungkook doesn’t even try to stop himself from lifting his head up and pressing a kiss to his lips. And Suga kisses him back. It isn’t any different now that Jungkook knows he has ears and a tail and purrs.
“Are you feeling better?”
“Fuck yeah.”
Suga chuckles. “Brat.”
And Jungkook fights to swallow past a lump in his throat, because the pet name that has always been said in the soft way that other people say “baby” is the exact same.
They kiss again, and Suga hums as he licks their lips and then his own. “Are you hungry?”
Jungkook thinks about that and nods. “Yeah.”
“Let’s get up and I’ll show you around.”
“It’s late,” Jungkook says, glancing around at the dark room and the windows full of a dark sky.
“We’re cats, kid. Most of us are always up late and we sleep during the day.”
“Right. Forgot about that.”
“Come on.” He pecks Jungkook on the lips and pushes up and away from him.
Jungkook follows him through a door and down a spiral staircase that is cut into the side of the tree. The bottom floor is an open area with soft looking couches and chairs along one curve and a small kitchen along the other. Suga heads there and motions to Jungkook to sit at a long table.
“What do you want to eat? I'm sure Jin-hyung has some leftovers from dinner.”
“You know I’ll eat anything.”
Suga smiles. “That you will.”
Jungkook watches him move around the kitchen. He’s so fluid and effortless. Like he has no worries or cares. In his dimension, Min Yoongi is pretty stiff and gruff.
Jungkook likes Suga a whole lot more.
“Why is your tail striped green?”
Suga laughs. “Of all the questions and that’s the first one you choose?”
Jungkook shrugs. “Everything else is normal from your point of view. You aren’t human, you’re this other kind of creature with a tail and ears, and you live in what is the Korea of your dimension. Nothing strange about that. I’ve never seen a green-striped cat, so that’s what I'm asking.”
Suga smiles over at him and shakes his head. “You are insane, Jungkookie.”
“Well? I’m in a coma, give me a break.”
“My tail is green because I dye it.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, we don’t use the harsh dyes that are used in your dimension. They’re mostly just plant based colorings. They don’t usually last very long either, just a few weeks. This month I’ve gone green, but most of the time Jin colors me pink.”
“I like it. It’s very punk.”
“Ya! Shut up, kid.”
“Hey, I’m being serious. I like it.”
Suga smiles over his shoulder.
And that isn’t different, the way Jungkook’s stomach swoops at the site of such pretty teeth and genuine humor. The way his throat closes and the way his pants tighten.
He doesn’t know what else to say that won’t be a love confession, so he just watches as Suga piles up a plate of food for them to eat. The food looks a little different, but it’s still obviously meat and vegetables, and the spices are different, but just as good as anything else he’s eaten.
“Let’s go take a walk,” Suga says when they’re done and Jungkook has downed one of the best glasses of water he’s ever tasted. “It’s a nice night.”
Jungkook smiles. “That’s a good idea. Walk where?”
“Just around our village.”
Jungkook expects it to be too dark outside, but the pink moon makes everything glow. It’s so soft and almost foggy. It’s relaxing and nowhere near the anxiety-inducing harsh fake lights of the city.
“The trees can cause some very dark shadows,” Suga says and takes Jungkook’s hand.
“Is that the only reason you want to hold my hand?” Jungkook teases.
Suga hisses at him and walks a little faster, tugging Jungkook down a dirt path and between the large trees. Jungkook has always liked the way that Min Yoongi’s fingers fit perfectly with his. He’s shorter than Jungkook, but his fingers are just as long, his palm just as wide. Jungkook loves the touch of it, especially now that he knows who Suga really is.
It’s also really interesting and pretty awesome to feel the way Suga’s tail bats against his leg. The movements are soft at first, as they walk, and then get more deliberate. Only a few minutes later, Suga’s tail is wrapped around one of Jungkook’s calf muscles.
Silence falls between them, and Jungkook doesn’t mind, just following him down the paths. He glances up at a spark of light and watches through the tree branches as a shooting star streaks across the sky in a complicated spiral.
“Neat,” Jungkook whispers.
“Huh?”
“Falling star.”
Suga smiles. “Did you make a wish?”
Jungkook looks down at him and returns his smile. “I’m walking in the dark, holding your hand, and feeling way too happy. What do I need a wish for?”
Suga stops and his cheeks turn red in the pink light. “That was cheesy.”
Jungkook chuckles and tugs him close to put his arm around his shoulders and Suga lets him. His tail shifts up and around his thigh. “But you liked it.”
“No, I didn’t, kid.”
“Yes, you did, kitten.”
“Ah!” Suga shouts and shoves at Jungkook, who only tightens his hold.
Suga grumbles under his breath, but his arm still snakes around Jungkook’s waist and he leans his head on Jungkook’s shoulder. An ear twitches against his cheek, and Jungkook shuts his eyes for a moment and smiles. They stand there hugging for a few minutes before Suga reluctantly untangles them to continue their walk.
“So you came to our dimension for coffee,” Jungkook says.
“Originally, yes. And then I discovered music. It is really different than what we have here. We have similar stringed instruments, drums, and flutes, but nothing can reproduce the sounds of bass and EDM. As you know, I’m addicted to hip-hop and I write songs to earn money. It’s gotten to be a really bad habit.”
“Hey, that bad habit is my college major.”
Suga laughs. “Yeah, I know. Sorry. Jin is just so worried about me because I spend more time there than I do here, and I ... I don’t know ... I ...”
“Do you want to stay, permanently, I mean?”
“Some days,” Suga says with a sigh. “Mostly for the music, but for ... for you too. And then the noise and the smells and the dirt and the people get to be too much and I come back home.”
“It is really nice here. Relaxing. Like a vacation at the beach.”
“This is where we’re going,” Suga says suddenly and pulls him toward a tree that has a staircase spiraling up its trunk. Its trunk is probably four or five men’s arms spread around. It’s way bigger than Jin’s tree.
“How old is this tree?”
“No one knows,” Suga says as they start up the stairs. Unlike the ones at Jin’s home, these are built outside the tree and not carved from the trunk. “It’s the tree that our village was originally built around. Most of our historical documents say that it’s always been this big.”
They aren’t even a quarter of the way up the stairs before Jungkook stops to take a break.
“Sounds like you need to spend more time on cardio and less time on bench pressing.”
“Fuck you,” Jungkook mutters.
“We’re not going all the way to the top. Come on.”
Jungkook sticks his tongue out at the back of Suga’s head, but he follows. With a smirk, he snags Suga’s tail.
Suga whips it out of his hands with a glare over his shoulder.
Laughing, Jungkook bounces up a couple steps, trying to grab it again. Suga flicks it out of his way and speeds up, leading Jungkook on a chase that he knows he can’t win, but he still tries. He’s heaving by the time Suga stops at a small platform and Jungkook bends over, hands on his knees, and tries to catch his breath.
“Weak,” Suga says.
Jungkook means to swear at him, but instead he just breathes and tries not to throw up. Ugh, not smart. He can’t even be mad when Suga says the same thing that he’s thinking.
Shaking his head, Suga procures something that looks like a canteen from under the top of a bench built near the edge of the platform.
The water is warm, but Jungkook gratefully takes a few swallows.
“I can’t really begin to tell you how offensive it is to touch someone’s tail without their permission.”
Jungkook lifts an eyebrow at him as he hands the canteen back. “Well, you did have it wrapped around my leg, so I figured you wouldn’t mind.”
There’s a faint blush on his cheeks in the moonlight, and Jungkook smiles.
“Come here, brat,” Suga says and motions him to the railing at the edge of the platform.
Jungkook moves next to him and looks out over the scenery. It’s mostly trees to the left, with fires and candles glowing to show the village they walked through, but to the right it’s ... it takes Jungkook a moment to realize what he is looking at. A large lake that is reflecting the pink moon and the glittering stars. Another one falls, streaking over the sky and the still surface of the lake.
“Wow,” Jungkook whispers. “Gorgeous.”
“Yeah,” Suga says and Jungkook feels his own cheeks blush when he realizes that Suga is looking at him and not the view.
“I kind of brought you here to make out,” Suga says.
“I kind of figured that out,” Jungkook replies.
Suga laughs and tugs his face down to kiss him soundly on the lips. Jungkook huffs into the kiss, wrapping his arms around Suga’s waist. He’s so light and easy to lift and Jungkook takes him over to the bench and sits down with Suga in his lap.
“So, you’re not going to break up with me now, right?” Jungkook asks.
Suga gives him a very unimpressed look.
“Just making sure,” Jungkook says.
“You are such a brat.”
“You’re so cute.”
“Yah!” he shouts and hits Jungkook’s shoulder.
Jungkook laughs at the blush on his cheeks. “When Joon makes another portal, can you come back with me?”
Suga smiles. “Yeah. I was planning on it.”
“Good. Kiss me again?”
It’s a question. One that gets another eye roll from the cat in his lap.
Jungkook smiles into the kiss and lets his hands wander while they makeout. It’s hard to keep them off Suga’s tail, especially when he hears Suga’s breath hitch and feels his body shiver. Sensitive.
So are his ears.
Jungkook wonders what his skin feels like. He wants to slide his hands up Suga’s stomach or back, but the jumpsuit thing he’s wearing doesn’t let him do anything like that. He’s kind of thankful for that when they hear footsteps and Suga pulls away with a sigh.
“It’s not very private up here,” Suga says.
Jungkook nods and notes the sudden laughter and noise from a small group of cats. Suga reluctantly moves away just as the group stumbles onto the platform. They say hello to Suga and look at Jungkook but don’t ask. Jungkook figures that his presence has already spread through the rumor network.
“Let’s go somewhere less noisy,” Suga whispers in his ear and Jungkook shivers, getting up quickly to hide it. Based on the satisfied smirk, Jungkook figures Suga felt him anyway.
>(^-^)<
In the morning, the glow of the pink moon is muted, replaced by a faraway sun. There’s warmth to everything even if the sun’s a bit farther away than what Jungkook is used to. Or maybe that warmth is just from the kitten that refuses to move away from him.
Suga again has him wrapped up around the waist and his tail hooked around his shin.
They’re both facing Jin, and Jin isn’t happy, his ears standing up straight, the fur on his tall puffed out.
“Shut up,” Suga says. “Shut up. I want ... I want to stay with Jungkook. I’m fine over there, I promise.”
“He practically lives there anyway,” Joon says and waves his arms above his head. Pink sparkles flutter around his fingertips.
“Pink? Really, Joon?” Suga says in disdain. “Do you really need to shout that you’re in love with Jin through your magic, too?”
There’s a pop above Joon’s head and the sparkles flutter down onto him in a shower of pink. His mouth is open in shock and he stammers something unintelligible, doesn’t look at Jin, and stalks away, his purple tail snapping behind him.
Jin stares at Suga with slitted eyes. “Come home soon.”
Suga nods. “I will. You know I will.”
Jin smiles and blows him a kiss. “You may have to have Jungkook give you a boost into the portal, short stuff.”
Suga snarls and lunges for him as Jin dances away and chases after Joon, yelling to come back and close the portal before someone else falls through it, but Jungkook is faster and catches him around the waist and pulls him back against his waist.
“I don’t mind giving you a boost,” Jungkook says and kisses his cheek.
Suga continues to grumble as they move to the shower of sparkles still on the ground.
Jungkook looks up. There’s nothing really different in the pink sky. Maybe a bit of a waver. Like how the air above the road wavers when it’s hot.
“Just jump?” Jungkook says.
Suga nods. “Yep. Just jump.”
With a smile, Jungkook swoops Suga into his arms, bridal style, ignores his yowl of protest, and jumps.
He bangs his elbow on something as the world flips and then he stumbles a little bit more and Suga yowls in his arms. The trees and the pink and the ground disappear and he’s coming up too fast to the hardwood of his living room.
“Fuck,” he shouts, tightens his hold on Suga and spins on one foot, taking the brunt of the fall on his shoulder and making sure that Suga is safe and nestled against him. An elbow to his solar plex as they land steals all his breath.
He smacks his head hard on the floor and his vision swims.
“Clawless, hairless, tail-less.”
Jungkook laughs when he can breathe again.
“What the fuck?”
They both freeze on the floor. Jungkook doesn’t want to open his eyes because that was Jimin’s voice and Suga is laying against him with his ears and tail in perfect view.
Suga grumbles. “That worthless kitten! He forgot to scry before making the portal.”
“In his defense, you did kind of out of him to Jin at the time.”
“I didn’t. Jin already knew.”
“Did Joon know that Jin already knew?”
Suga pushes up with his hands flat on Jungkook’s chest and smiles down at him. “Okay. A fair point.”
“Um, Jungkookie? Yoongi-hyung?”
Suga winces.
Jungkook chuckles. “Hi, Jimin-ie. How are you?”
“What the fuck, Jeon Jungkook?”
They finally scramble up and Jungkook slides to the wall to lean against it with his eyes shut. And not a moment too soon before there is another thud, a scream, and a whooshing noise.
“Suga! You forgot your bag-- Oh my god, hi! Are you Jimin?”
Jungkook opens his eyes and sees Hobi crowding into Jimin’s space.
Jimin’s eyes are wide, darting around, trying to look at the cat in front of him and the cat on Jungkook’s lap.
“What the--” And then he swoons and falls, and luckily, Hobi is there to catch him.
“What did I say?” Hobi asks.
“Idiot,” Suga mumbles, but uses the moment of peace to curl up under Jungkook’s chin and purr a little bit.
>(^-^)<
Jimin is only out for a few minutes, groaning and head lolling in Hobi’s lap. Hobi is running his long fingers through Jimin’s hair.
ChimChim, Jimin’s annoying calico cat, is yowling and hissing from where Jungkook locked him in the bathroom.
Jimin sits up with a shout and pushes himself to the other side of the couch, his wide, panicked gaze on Hobi.
Hobi just smiles, swaying his orange tail through the air.
“So, I’ve been gone for two days,” Jungkook starts. “Well, not quite two days.”
Jimin darts his eyes over to him and nods slowly. “I was worried.”
“I know. Let me explain.”
Jungkook is halfway through the explanation when two things happen almost at once: Hobi has shifted and twisted his way over to Jimin and lays his head in his lap and Jimin is running his hands through Hobi’s orange hair and rubbing his ears, and Hobi is purring. And his front door bursts open and Taehyung barrels through, tripping over his shoes and shouting for Jimin.
“Is Jungkookie back--oh, you are, there you are. You are back? Right? You’re back? Hi. Where the fuck-- What the ... who are these people? Oh wow, are those cat ears? Cool! They look so real, how did you even--”
Taehyung falls to his knees in front of Jimin and Hobi and reaches for them, and realizes that Hobi is purring.
So is Suga, it’s a soft rumble against his chest.
Jungkook laughs at Taehyung’s shocked face and starts his story over again. He gets halfway through it when there is a poof and a shower of pink sparkles that cover Jungkook’s hardwood floor.
“That incompetent earless cat!” Suga shouts. “He just closed the portal with Hobi still here.”
Hobi’s eyes go wide and then he laughs. “It’s okay. I can stay with you.”
“No, you can’t,” Suga says and growls. “You ... I ... we ...”
Hobi laughs. “You can still fuck your human if I’m here, Suga.”
“I am going to declaw--”
Jungkook tightens his grip around Suga’s waist and keeps him in check, even if he’s snarling and glaring.
“You can come and stay with me,” Taehyung says. “And Jimin might want to too if the two of them are going to have kinky catboy sex.”
“We aren’t going to--” Suga starts.
“Hey, don’t take the option away,” Jungkook says and makes the others laugh, even though Suga is now struggling to get out of his lap again.
Jungkook lets him go, and he scrambles down the hall, toward Jungkook’s bedroom. Or the bathroom, as ChimChim streaks into the room and starts hissing at Hobi.
Hobi laughs and reaches for the cat who takes a vicious swipe at his arm. Jimin scoops up the calico ball of hate and stands, “Sorry, Hobi.”
“It’s okay.”
“So are we going?”
Jimin nods. “Yeah, let’s just get ... but Hobi’s ears and--”
“Easy enough to hide. Jungkookie, do you have a beanie or something. I didn’t come with any earth clothes.”
Jungkook nods and stands up. He goes to his room and digs out a beanie and a sweater. Hobi puts them on, and his tail wraps up around his torso and then is hidden under the hoodie. He looks human, and only now that he sees it, does Jungkook notice that he’s missing ears sticking out from under the beanie.
“Awesome!” Taehyung crows and pulls at his arm. “Let’s go back to mine and have kinky catboy sex.”
Hobi laughs, and Jimin growls at both of them as they head toward the door.
“I’m still mad,” Jimin says with a pointed look. “You owe me for just disappearing.”
Jungkook nods. “I know.”
The door shuts behind them and Jungkook heads toward his bedroom. He’d heard the bathroom door open, but Suga did not reappear.
Jungkook leans against his door and smiles at the curled up catboy at the end of his bed. His tail is in the air, snapping in anger.
“The sex was a joke,” Jungkook says. “You know that, right?”
“I know,” Suga mumbles.
“I really like you.”
“I know.”
“So one day ...”
Suga sends him a very unimpressed look, but Jungkook is used to those and he laughs and heads into the room, settling on the bed behind Suga. It’s only a few moments of stillness before Suga is pressed up against him and his purrs fill the room.
“One day,” Suga mutters.
“Tomorrow is a day,” Jungkook says.
Suga growls at him, though the ire is lost because it’s still mostly a purr.
Chuckling, Jungkook relaxes and runs his hands up and down Suga’s back. “I have a chemistry lecture in about a half hour.”
Suga snorts. “You try to leave this bed before I’ve had a nap and I’ll use my claws to castrate you.”
“For the sake of that promise of ‘one day’ then, I better not leave.”
Suga grunts. “Damn straight. Now shut up and let me sleep.”
Jungkook smiles at his ceiling, smiles even wider as Suga’s purrs lesson and taper off a little in his sleep. He’d already fallen in love with the dirty-mouthed rapper who wore punk clothes and drank Americanos and coffee black. This cute soft kitten cuddly side is Jungkook’s undoing. It may be another couple months before he confesses, but his heart, his mind, his body already know that he is irreversibly in love with a cat-man thing.
A/N: nope, not going to write a sequel. this sweetness just wouldn't leave me alone
