Hello, hello, hello and HELLO 2017! It's a brand new year, which means we're kickstarting All The Things Friday again and with a 'things we're looking forward to in 2017' edition
( Read more... )
What fics/fanvids/other creative works are you hoping to start, work on, or finish this year?Well. I have this fic snippet I started on some time ago, in which Maria Hill is seen to be interviewing a parade of Clint's former flames for reasons unknown. One of these days I'll finish that! Also, there's a Voyager WIP that's actually 1/3 posted, which I get plaintive PMs and reviews about every other week... Hmmm
( ... )
WIP Wednesday was great (it helped me get a grip on Highway of Diamonds) but I thought of it as a one-time ATTF, rather than bring back the whole thing. But I do like the idea...
Ooo, which cities and countries are up for consideration?
I think we could definitely do an unfinished works ATTF, and if that kind of thing turns out to be popular we could maybe do a semi-regular workshop type ATTF? I would like to do more on writing/creative skills and discussion in general, because we are our own resource and great support group.
Well, as for countries/cities: Spain (Barcelona & Madrid) is on the definite list; so is Munich, which I hope to stop in during a planned road trip this summer. Am also angling for an invite to Oslo from my colleague and friend, and then there's always Rome... (which I've never been to, believe it or not).
I'll be happy to host the WIP workshop ATTF - will scan the post for dates. :-)
Huh. I do find it funny that you've not been to Barcelona or Rome, in that you've been so many other places, but then that's probably my European-location-prejudice showing (because of course it's easier for us to see places in Europe). Of those places Rome is the only one I've been to, on a day trip whilst camping in Italy with the family. I'd go back; interesting place. But then I'd go back to anywhere in Italy! I have friends who've been to Barcelona, apparently beautiful :)
Well, most of my interesting trips have been for work, and there wasn't much in Barcelona that I worked on ... :P Rome I missed because I was on mat leave during the conference establishing the Int; Criminal Court... And yes, when it comes to holidays, that's cheaper easier when you live in Europe. Time to catch up! :-)
PS: Paris this weekend. But been there a few times, including for work, fun and fencing, so it doesn't count. :P
I guess there is that *grins* and obviously that was bad timing for mat leave ;) Cheaper and closer. To be fair I think most of the places in Europe I've visited have been camping and caravaning family trips. We did well with those.
I've been to Paris once - I'd actually only been to London twice before the last few years - and I need to do that again some time. I've never been to the Louvre, which a friend tells me is overrated compared to smaller art places in the city but I'd like to go once. Another friend has written to ask if I fancy a long weekend in Lisbon sometime this year, also never been there so I might take them up on that.
Just gonna repeat everyone else, love the teaser (go for it! Do it!!), the fortune cookie thing was great (I've been on reddit and I was like 'where's the upvote?'), and I would dig WIP days, I have too many atm.
