I really enjoyed this AU! Very cleverly constructed and full of wonderful writing. I particularly enjoyed their knife throwing competition, the Tony Stark shout out, and all the secrecy you wove throughout this and their relationship. The ending was a perfect little cherry on top of a great story. Very much enjoyed this.

The scene in the bakery was so perfect and warm and I love her calling in the favor at the end.

This was wonderful, in every way possible. My favourite sentence:

"He’s from somewhere in the midlands of America, he says, with corn fields and wide skies, but also poverty pressing down on them like the dust blown in from further west, dust that covered the grazing, dust that you tasted in the back of your throat."

I do think I recognize the cadence of that writing ... ;-)
