Hello my fellow compromisers.

First off apologies for the late post, I had work and didn't realize I was hosting until late afternoon. But I hope we can still party and have some fun.

Todays theme is Crossovers. Everyone loves the possibility and seeing our favorite characters from different fandoms mash together. So I ask you who from other ( Read more... )

Well. Given Jeremy Renner's ability to score interesting parts in action movies, there seems to be an entire sub-genre of Clint Barton/Will James/Hansel/Aaron Cross/William Brandt/Jason Walsh are the same person. (I actually know a Jason Walsh in RL but he looks nothing like Jeremy Renner, which is too bad, really.) Anyway. That subgenre doesn't really work for me. I think I've seen it done well maybe once, but I can't remember the title. If someone mentions it, I'll happily second a rec...!

I would, however, like to rec shenshen77's Brothers verse, which is a three-part series crossover between Avengers and Bourne Legacy, in which Clint is the older brother and Aaron/Kenneth the lost little one.

Also, a prompt. Not sure if it's a crossover -- I have no idea what the second 'verse might be -- it's probably more geared towards A/U-ness. (We found out last week that I don't know the difference although now I do, thanks to frea_o and inkvoices.) It could be a crossover with Parade's End, where I got this amazingly delicious line that just BEGS to be ( ... )

Thanks for the rec, darling! *tacklehugs you*

I love writing that 'verse and I'm currently working on the fourth fic set there. I find the idea of Clint suddenly having a blood relative very intriguing, all the emotions this evokes on all sides, they're just delicious to explore :) Talk about a family of choice, as Marta and Natasha are really the glue that holds it all together (at least in my head, hehehe).

I have no clue about Parade's End, but that title is gold and I'd love to read what you might cook up there \o/

But Clint does have a blood relative already! That reminds me, I once read a fic that was crossed over with...ugh, trying to remember...Teen Wolf? Is that a tv show? Something like that. And the dad in the show was really Barney, who changed his name and became good and became the dad in the show.

Yeah, my memory of fics is stellar. :P

I need to read your fic!! Haven't watched that movie yet -there are actually a lot of JR movies I still need to watch!

You're right, he does. But Barney is dead in this 'verse (as he has canonically died in the comics as well) and has been for a few years. Then there's also the thing with the betrayal, so Clint is a bit apprehensive when it comes to male relatives :) But he's not just a bad guy here either, because I didn't want that, Barney deserves his own redemption story.

Yay, read my fic(s) :D I hope you enjoy them!

Yeah, Teen Wolf is a TV show, although I haven't seen any of it yet. But what you say about that fic sounds like a well-done crossover, I like it :)

Hmm, prompts...

How about...

Natasha is actually the daughter of River and the Doctor which explains the red hair and the longevity that she allows others to assume was due to the Red Room although the Red Room was the same awful people who kidnapped her grandmother and mother...

How about...

Thor mentions the time that he almost went out with a woman Trillian and they (Thor, Clint and Natasha) meet up with a man carrying a towel and a book. Bonus points if you have Phil hook up with Fenchurch since after all...she plays the cello and is awesome sauce.

How about...

Clint and Natasha run into problems in Moscow with...

Jack Ryan or

Oliver Queen or

the people from Red 2...

and of course...
Merida is actually the daughter of Clint and Natasha...

I am not too proud to beg. Please! One (or some) of you awesome and talented bar patrons -- please write a piece featuring our favorite assassins crossing paths with the vigilantes of Starling City.

Could you just imagine the testosterone-fueled snark-fest between Clint and Ollie? Or the understanding eye rolls shared between Coulson and Diggle? And the cooperation between Nat and Felicity as they, in their own subtle ways, flirt with the other's partner -- while actually saving the day (of course!)?

Ah, I just went from begging to pleading...

I have the perfect solution for you! Frea has written the 'Badass Altitude' universe, which is a wonderful Arrow/Avengers crossover featuring Natasha, Felicity, and everyone else who hangs around them. ;) You can find her AO3 collection here!

Thank you! You can't see me, but I'm grinning from ear to ear. You and Frea have just given me the perfect activity for a disturbingly frigid and snowy Saturday afternoon. ;)

I want to write a story about Clint and Natasha and "The Walking Dead". Something that starts with *Budapest*. :o) I already have a few ideas but I'm totally clueless about the ending. :o/ Maybe later I'll finally find an idea. ;D

Knowing nothing about TWD, I will stand on the sidelines and cheer mightily. *waves pompoms* You can do it! :D

I already have an ending in mind but this would be too mean. :o/ So I'm searching for another one. *keeps thinking about another ending*

I, personally, have a weakness for Firefly crossovers/fusions. But they always seem so hard to do, or to get right. Which I suppose is a testement of Joss Whedon's storytelling or something. Anyway, Two Straight Lines in Rain or Shine by sienamystic and Ode to Joy by tinnytins are two such stories that, in my opinion, got it very right.

Also, I wrote The Widow of Bells Brook; a Avengers/Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell fusiony thing for my own amusement.

BUT THE HERE'S THE BIG ONE: Avengers/American Gods crossover (oh, you're going to get bored of me requesting this); There was a girl, and her uncle sold her, wrote Mr Ibis in his perfect, copper-plate handwriting. That is the tale; the rest is detail.

I have also written something a long these lines which my friend, to whom I gave it as a Christmas present, said it's "less like fanfiction and more a homage to American Gods". Which made me happy. That'll wind its way onto here before long.

I might be mixing up crossover and fusion here. Oh well.

Bwee, thanks for the rec! That was a story I really enjoyed writing, because Clint and Natasha almost feel like they'd so easily slip into that world.

You wrote Avengers/Jonathan Strange? And I was not notified? I'm firing somebody.

They do don't they? There should be more Firefly crossovers.

YES to Firefly. Also, Star Trek Voyager. I'm not sure how to do it though, so I just have Clint be a fan in my head canon, and drop occasional references. Does that count?

Okay, since I spent last several days watching Sherlock and rambling about it to shenshen77 how about this? Bruce Banner and John Watson are acquaintances/friends/have worked together on something; OR it's John Watson and Clint who have met before. And then after the battle of New York the Avengers are searching for someone smuggling Stark weapons or alien tech or HYDRA people and it turns out that Sherlock Holmes is after the same people. You can count on Tony and Sherlock to get along (not! but banter would be priceless), Sherlock would try to deduce things about Natasha but she would tell him either that he's wrong or try to mislead him, Lestrade would like Steve I think, and Bruce would get along with Molly. Oh and another possibility? Mary and Natasha might have met before.

:D

I need to see first two seasons of Sherlock and I need to get into Sherlock's head. Which isn't easy, his thinking pattern is something I'm not used to writing, but I definitely want to try!

I'm sure it was John Watson and Clint who met before, both while in Afghanistan with the US and British Army, respectively. Clint got wounded in battle (of course) and found himself in the care of this tiny English surgeon, who not only kept his blood where it belonged, but also proved to be very skilled with his handgun. They snarked a lot and snarled a lot at each other, Clint being annoyed with Watson's OCD and Watson rolling his eyes at Clint's devil-may-care attitude. Yeah, they didn't really click, but they managed to survive together and have an appreciation for the other guy's skills.
Also Mary and Natasha totally met before, just like Watson and Clint they used to run in the same circles. But it's all rather hush-hush, as international espionage and assassinations tend to be. So all in all I think them meeting again could be very, very interesting :D

Damn you, woman, you're giving me plotbunnies! Please write those for me, hehehe ;)
