Love this so far, btw.

Yeah, chapter six is missing and chapter five is cut-off mid-point. Some very important stuff happens after! Don't read ahead, you'll spoil yourself. :( I've sent an email to the mods with the updated document. Just a goof.

I love how you have weaved together details from the movie, like Nat's ankle, into this movie without it feeling forced or just a copy of Avengers with a few pirates thrown in. You have done a marvelous job of also creating a vast mythology with all of these characters. Can't wait to read more.

I think you're the only person to have noticed Nat's ankle (which was a bit I loved about the movie, that she fought the entire final battle with a bum ankle and still was the most awesome out of all of them), so kudos on that! Mythology is my favorite part of world-building, actually. It's all in giving each of the characters a history that's true to both the original and the new version, and figuring out where you can push and pull on the different universes to give it that unique, yet familiar, atmosphere. Wow, I sound like a infomerical, so I'm going to go now. Thanks for the comment!

This time, as she suspected it would, the blast knocked her straight into the air. She soared up, temporarily losing her grasp on her knife. She caught it right before she landed, one boot on either side of a very confused, very wet Steve Roger’s ribcage.

He blinked up at her in surprise. “Natasha?” he asked.

“Ho, Captain,” Natasha said.

This scene is just as awesome as the first time I read it. It’s basically playing like a movie in my head and I truly feel like someone HAS to make a movie out of this fic!!!

I totally confess, I wrote that part based on a very clear scene I saw in my head. In my head, Natasha lands kind of like she does in Iron Man 2, with the hand holding the knife extended behind her back, and her other hand planted next to Steve's ear. ;)
