keith and i watched "the phantom of liberty" last night. it's a film by luis bunel, he was a friend of salvidor dali and was kind of a surrealist. it was a really interesting movie. there was a segment in the movie where this married couple arrives at another couple's apartment where they are greeted by the wife who says, "we thought you'd never make it...we almost started without you." the husband of the visiting couple just makes a few comments about the traffic and etc. and you as the veiwer assume they're a couple of friends meeting to have dinner. well, they walk into the next room and instead of being a dining room, it's a large table with toilets around it instead of chairs. they all get to ther places and unzip/undo their undergarments and sit down together on their respective toilets. and instead of talking about food or whatever you normally would at the dinner table, they talked about waste and pee and poop. then, one of the gentlemen got up in the middle of the gathering and asked the maid where the dining room was, she told him it was the last door at the end of the hall. he walked into this room and sat down in a chair, pulled out a folding table in front of him, pushed a button and food came to him in one of those little elevators that rich people use to transport food from level to level in their houses. so instead of eating at the dinner table, they went to the bathroom, and instead of going to the bathroom in private, they ate in private instead. while this gentlemen was doing his business, another guest came to the door and tried to open it, the man inside was startled and said, "it's occupied!" i with a mouth-full of lamb-chops. it was so bizzare. the movie had all sorts of those kinds of elements in it. it was interesting, but now that i look back at it, it was really gross and weird. i'm still not sure if i liked it.
anyway, things are going very well. i just thought i'd share my thoughts on that movie we're both very happy and healthy. i miss you all and i wish i could see you soon.
oh, and we also saw star wars. i liked it pretty good, it didn't blow me away or anything, but it was still quality. i would see it again.
