Okay, so today was a pretty good day. I woke up and took Chevy for a walk, but I didn't go to the park. I probably walked about a mile. I think I am going to have to keep my morning walk/runs to the park because the shade makes it cooler for my poor black dog. He was dying by the time we got the brusters, so I turned around and came back rather than going back up high road. According to google maps, that was about 0.7 miles each way, so total would be about a mile and a half. Not bad.
I went grocery shopping with Krishna for some more healthy food. I realized today that I don't know much about MAKING healthy food. I can easily buy stuff that says low fat, or low sodium, or etc, but I don't want to just buy pre-made food. I did buy some fresh chicken breast, and I swtiched to using lean ground beef in the taco chili recipe that Krishna is going to make in his slow cooker. I also bought some yogurt, which i have never really liked. But I bought it cause I know its supposed to be good for you, and good for weight loss. I had a strawberry and white chocolate one with lunch and it was pretty good.
I broke down and ate a junior bacon cheeseburger for lunch, but according to my food diary, it only has like 300 calories, so it wasn't too horrible. I am going to try to avoid fast food as much as possible, though. I did however, I am sure, blow my calorie restriction on dinner tonight. We went to suites and made steaks with corn and pasta salad. I restricted how much I ate, but it still was a good portion of food. And I also found a jar of pickled beets at Publix which made me so freaking happy. I ate a few. I am not sure if pickled beets count as a healthy or unhealthy food...any suggestions?
I went to walmart today too and bought an exercise ball. I am going to start using it every night. I worked on it for about 20 minutes tonight and it felt pretty good. I need to work out a set exercise routine so I can track my progress. My fitness magazine says that the most effective cardio is to do circuits, running at max for a minute and then walk for 4, and progressively decreasing the resting time. However, in my mind, that seems somewhat hard to to with Chevy there on a leash, so I might spend 30 minutes walking chevy to warm up, then work on circuit running. Or perhaps continue with the morning walks, but go to the track later in the day to do circuit work. It recommends doing it three times a week.
So for today I ate:
1 apple
1 junior bacon cheeseburger
1 serving of yoplait light yogurt
1 ham and cheese sandwich
1 special-k cereal bar
1 bottom round steak with 2 tbsp of jack Daniels bbq sauce
1/2 cup of bacon and ranch pasta salad made with light mayo
1 serving of steamed corn
Feels like I did nothing but eat today...I need to find more filling foods to eat so I am not eating so constantly. I am looking to eat three good meals a day, at four hour intervals and 1 healthy snack in between.
