It's not all work, I promise

I am starting to feel like I am Standing at ground zero. People are dropping like flies at work. Those who are not sick are quitting or being fired. And there are not enough new hires to compensate. I know the books are down and money is starting to be tight but, wow.

They I know of we have lost... 3 in the art department? A handful in distrubution and a BUNCH from sales. They are on orders to hire pretty much anyone who walks throug the door looking for a sales position. I think it's a stunt to get sales up. Now I don't know if they were being sarcastic or serious. I am just an office monkey, I don't get informed of such things.

They fired Mary Anne. Still waiting for fallout on that one. They were very... bastardly about it. There was no talk to tel her why, he caught her at the bus stop when she was leaving and told her to clean out her desk when she came in today. I didn't like the woman, but she deserved better than that.

In a way I have more job security, but at the same time they seem fire happy at the moment. Keeping head down.

~~~~~~~~~~Not my work!~~~~~~~~
Polyglass had an equipment hiccup so the opening of the facorty was bumped back a few weeks. In the meantime they got bill a job at the orange juice plant. Well, the pay is mimimum and they only work people in 12 hour shifts. So he is beat and consistantly smelling like orange juice. But he has been able to brush up on his spanish, and at least he is working finally.
~~~~~~Not work at all!!~~~~~~~~
On a side note I spent a day with my mother this weekend. It was nice, we honeslty didn't get to do much. We were sitting in tire kingdom most of the day waiting on an oil change (never believe the 20 min speech). But we hit Eagle Ridge for the first time in ages. There is a LOT of new construction going on in that area. I was surprised at the amount of apartment complexes and shopping centers they are building out there. Anyhoo we went clothes shopping, which is such a joy. But it was worth it spending time with my mother. And it is nice that Victoria's finally carries something in my size.

Ah another personal note. Bill has decided that when we get some spare money he would like to get back into music. He wants to play the Pan Pipes. I still want to take up the Dulcimer but they are just so expensive I have a while to wait yet. But who knows what the future will bring. Dan picked up the Mandolin so I'm sure that was the spark. But hey I can't blame him, it would be neat if we can motivate each other to learn. From what I have seen dan is doing pretty well, the fingerings are a lot like a violin and for a man with such big hands he has awsome dexterity.

Things could be doing worse. I miss Soda, but things could be doing much much worse.
I miss you all. Have a good day.
