"It's none of your business who I kiss!" Sebastian snaps, and Holland scowls at him.
"I'm your older sister, of course it is!" she snaps back, and sticks her finger practically in his face. "You're getting a reputation, and it's not a good one. Father will hear of it soon, you know he will! Why can't you be more like Cedric?"
"Cedric's perfect," Sebastian says, a hint of bitterness in his voice. "Why should I even try?"
"You could make an effort!" Holland says, brandishing her finger. He winces and leans backward.
"Are you done now?" Sebastian says. "I have maids to seduce." Holland's mouth opens and then she closes it.
"You're hopeless," she says. "Just remember it's not my fault when father calls you in for another talk in his study." Sebastian shrugs, his hands in his pockets.
"I've dealt with it before," he says.
"I know," Holland says, and sighs. "Oh, Seb, I'm worried for you. I'm leaving soon. I want to know that you won't be charming your way through the ranks of maidens and generally being a never-do-well."
"That's generally what I am," Seb points out, but the rancor is gone from his voice, and his jaunty smile droops a little.
"You could be so much more," Holland sighs, and pulls him into a hug. "You never even talk to Celia anymore, and the two of you used to be such good friends." Sebastian stiffens.
"She's busy, you know," he says as Holland pulls back and grips his shoulders, studying his face. "She came out a few months ago, you know." He makes the words more careless than he should have - Holland knows him well, and she bites her lip.
"You've argued, haven't you?" she says.
"In a way," Sebastian says with a shrug, and ducks under her arms. "Come on, let's go the Bay. They're flying the 'ship sighted' pennant."
"All right then," Holland acquiesces, and follows him out as he grabs her hand.
