So, chaila43 has made this a month of Posting Awesome Things. And since while things are mostly good over here I am super stressed and busy all the time, I think this is a GREAT IDEA, and everyone should do it.

I was super furious about the reboot, and now I'm just kind of sad and crossing my fingers. There's rumors Stephanie will be around in Batman Inc! and Huntress has her own mini now, oh thank god I was terrified for her. Now I just need news on Cassandra to round out my personal Trinity of women I love too much and are in horrible danger of death by reboot. <333

I am trying to be positive all over the place! part of why I made this huge picspam. Even if I lose them now, I will always have their awesome in my HEART.

I've heard really good things about Birds of Prey and its heroines from various people - if I were interested in getting into their series, where should I start?

Oh dear, superhero comics canon is confusing. Between asking you for BoP recs and eqnziring with beccatoria about Wonder Woman, my mind slightly boggles. When I have a bit of leisure time, during a (hopefully) upcoming holiday in August, I must make a list and ask at the local comic bookstore.

Wonder Woman's history IS really confusing, yeah. Birds of Prey, I promise, is much less so. It's pretty self-contained, for one thing, and I promise it's pretty easy to follow. It's also really, really good. :D

You should have seen me while I was putting this together, just bouncing up and down and making happy noises. MY LADIES, MY LADIES. I LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH.

Batgirls is actually the easiest to rec stuff for! If you want Cassandra Cain, you want her 73-issue run, which is really great. If you want to legally buy it, you can find volume names here. There aren't any in particular I'd recommend because I just love the whole run SO much. But do not read anything past that - she was in two miniseries which both sucked in regards to her. :(

If you want Stephanie Brown, her run will end with it's 24th issue in a month or two. It's been REALLY great. The two collected editions out are Batgirl: Batgirl Rising and Batgirl: The Flood, which go up to #14. I'm assuming the rest will get collected too.

Alternatively, if you're looking for a slightly less legal route, I can give you means.

73 issues? DAMN. That's a lot. But Cassandra is epic, so I'm not complaining.

However, I am kind of short on funds at the moment so...less legal means, please?

Damn, Birds of Prey looks kind of amazing. I NEED TO FIND THIS SOMEWHERE. And then possibly spend the next week blabbing about it to everyone I know.

Birds of Prey IS amazing. I love all the series I recommended here, and some of them more than Birds of Prey even, but it is a really good series. I made some recommendations for munditia here if you'd like some starting points for reading. :D
