Hey everyone,
Things are going surprisingly well and I'm content with life right now. I'm just crawling my way out of a low in life right now and I can't wait to get out.
My reading at night has been awesome lately. I recently finished Job and now i'm going through Proverbs. In Chapter 12 verse 15 (i think) "The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice." I think that this can be a verse that can be applied to everyone. When I read this, at first it just seemed like a blur because I was sooooo tired when reading, but then I reread it and thought how much this means to my life. As Christ Followers, we need to understand that we are not perfect and no matter where we are there is something in our lives that can be done better.
This life is so hard because of all of the things we have to endure. Imperfection is one thing that is just terrible to have. The thought of our own failures is horrible and it erodes all of our good thoughts about ourselves. This is why hope is such an important thing to have in life. As Christ Followers, we have hope that Christ will be able to alleviate the pain of this world.
Two days from now will mark a wonderful yet depressing day in our religion because of what Christ had to endure for us. The day signifies how He let man, the very same people He was sent to save, literally beat the snot out of him and suffer humiliation, betrayal and death.
But did Jesus's death start on the cross? When Brett and I were at Applebee's last Tuesday, we held a conversation while he was waiting for salad and I for my Blue Cheese Burger. He told me a quote from an author whose name I can't recall. It went something like this, "Jesus's death did not begin at the cross, it began when the umbilical chord was cut." It was one of those things that you all the evidence for, but you didn't quite think it through completely. So it was very easy for me to understand.
It's amazing to know that our God actually stepped down from his throne from heaven in order to step into the earth's atmosphere and live life as a human. He went through all of the things that we went through. Jesus was once a teenager and at some point felt as though the world was jumping on his back over and over It cheers us up to know that whatever we are going through right now, God isn't saying, "Man, that sucks." Whenever we tell him what's going on in our lives, he gives us a hug and tells us, "I know how that feels. I'm right here, helping you."
Instead of using the convenient LiveJournal box to tell everyone how I feel i'm going to explain it in actual sentences that are a little more meaningful if you read them backwards (jk). Life is going well for me right now. I'm in a situation that I haven't been in for about two years (mom upside down). I woke up this morning and just felt a fire burning inside me that was growing inside side like a wildfire in the dry forest.
Joy.
