University

Great weekend!

Friday night we decided to go out to celebrating closing out another credit card and ended up at the Hong Kong King Buffett, our normal ‘stuff your face with Chinese, seafood and sushi’ place.

Saturday Kim got out the door to run troll and I puttered around waiting for Grace to wake up (the girl would not get out of bed the last two morning! Weird!) I got her loaded up and off to my parents after a brief stop to pick up Heather. My dad and I installed a car seat into their car so they can show her off to their friends when she comes to visit.

University was a very laid back day for me, helping out at troll, visiting with folks and just relaxing. I had a good talk with William the Younger about Pennsic stuff and got the ball rolling there. I only attended one class, taught by Gracie, so I could heckle her. Thanks for being a good sport, G!

After the event I picked up the kid and we headed over to Travis’s for Babypalooza time. Dee Dee was in town with Amanda, and Bart and Sarah came over, so we had seven adults and eight kids. Wild.

Sunday I mostly puttered around the house, raking up some leaves, cleaning up, playing with Grace. The weather was amazing so we spent some time outside. Grace was very helpful and well behaved while I raked leaves. Sunday evening the Rubles (Henricus, his wife Cat and their two kids) came over for dinner/social time for the kids. We had a total blast and look forward to doing that again soon. Afterwards Fred came over and we raced cars for a couple of hours.

This week is dominated by some errands that have to be run, the big Central Region Practice on Tuesday and then Ymir prep. We have the possibly of a huge influx of teenagers into the group, all that, in theory want to fight. I have no idea how to handle that. Yikes! We have one sixteen year old right now and he is doing great but his mother is very involved in the SCA with him so that makes it possible. Stuff to ponder.

I have to make a new sword this week. Yikes! I’m going to look pretty ratty by my normal Ymir shakedown standards but such is life. There is still a small chance we won’t be able to go. (That reminds me I need to order meat pies for P today…)

Man, this is a busy week. Time to get back to work.
