A fortress deep and mighty.

It's weird to be a coffee drinker. Yesterday I didn't have any, and I think that added to my exhaustion at the end of the work day. Today I am finishing my second cup, and going for another one in a minute. It is so cold in the back half of my office (heat is set to 50 since there are no employees there now) where the coffee pot is that it is ( Read more... )

Sometimes you hurt my head. Why are you so down on our A&S things man? Just because I don't swing a stick doesn't make my fun less valid.

My random penny thoughts:

Good B&Bs get out there among their people. They know the people in their barony, they're among the first to meet the newcomers, and they have a knack for making people feel needed & important. They can encourage people to volunteer and otherwise get them active in the barony. In larger baronies (geographically), this means visiting all parts of it regularly so an area doesn't feel neglected. Especially to newcomers, this is important. Good B&Bs lead by example.

I agree with what Aneira says, but would like to add that, in my opinion, expanding the horizons of the Baronial population is key as well. If your populace never leaves your borders, you have done no service to your Kingdom. A good B&B are able to encourage Kingdom participation as well as local participation. Not everyone can do both, or wants to, but the opportunities and the encouragement should be there. As B&B, your participation with the Kingdom as a whole should remain high on your list of priorities. It is easier for them to follow where you lead than to forge the ground themselves. Without your example, they might not even realize there's a wider world that is ready and willing to accept their participation.
