We got back from BDA on Thursday night, and jumped right in clean up the house, the cats as always trashed it, so for the first two hours, with us working together, we got the house just livable. The next day we started shampooing the carpets, and wash the clothes, I spent Valentines Day finishing up the carpet in our room, and put the stuff back down in the living room. Kevin went shopping and came home with some beautiful T bone steaks. He cooked us a much needed good meal. That night I was so tired that I could not go to sleep, so the next day I was beat. I have most of the stuff unpacked but not hung up yet, we took a break yesterday and went bowling with our buzzard league. It was a pleasant break.
We had a great time in BDA, my brothers, my little sister, Kevin and I had a birthday party for Mom, really seemed to enjoy it. My brothers played the music and sang, my little sister sang some soles, and then the rest for us just sang at will, some of my Mom’s sisters got up and danced. All and all we had a great time, we served cold cuts, and a lovely strawberry short cake, that Dennis bought it made a great birthday cake.
We didn’t too much else except, spend time with family, Kevin spent most of his time with my brother Dennis, and a few days with my uncle Lenard.
My cousin Sheila took all of us out for lunch, and a lovely drive it was a prefect day. We were invited out to supper twice, once to my aunt Betty’s and once to my aunt Ruth, both of whom are my Mom’s sisters. One of my other aunties had a birthday while we were there, and we were invited to that luncheon.
My Mom seems to be doing well except, she get things mixed up, but then she is not so young anymore, some of her brothers and sisters are having the same problems. It is so hard to leave her, she holds on to me so much, but I have made my life in Texas with my children and grandchildren, still it hurts to leave her. She has always been such a wonderful Mom.
Kevin ate Bermuda lobster three times, once at a rest aunt, and twice he and Dennis boiled their own, they ate until they could eat no more. It is the only available in the winter, so they make the best of it in January when we visit.
