Having a small group of people over tomorrow to watch the inauguration and have pancakes, which was an activity combination, suggested by Tim, that seemed just odd enough to be perfect. The original idea was to have the viewing at the Neo-Futurarium, enlarged against the back wall with our projector, and invite a much larger group including our staff, board, volunteers, and associated artists such as
Barrel of Monkeys and
Theater Oobleck. But (a) that would have been a heck of a lot of pancakes, and (b) the theater tends to be very, very cold when the stage lights aren't all turned on and the place isn't full of people. So: ensemble/staff/board only, at my place, with pancakes.
With that in mind, this is another one of those days when I take the regular to-do list and toss it aside in favor of getting this place cleaned up. If I have time after that, then I can get writing done, or hit the heavy bag for awhile, or search for my next job.
Floors, desk, shelves, aquarium, broom, mop, soap and water. I'm not one who can really guess what
MLK would think today, on the day before Obama's inauguration, but I would imagine he'd want this place spotless.
