Two minutes of anything.

Auditions for new Neo-Futurists begin this morning.

By the end of this year, the ensemble will have seen four of us--Dina, Sharon, Dean, and Jonathan--go Inactive due to departures from the area or other significant life changes. This is never to say some of them won't end up back on our stage in some capacity or another, just that they are no longer committed to the rigorous, full-time work that comes of keeping our company afloat and our flagship show running. So we're in need of a new blood transfusion, stat.

The old saw is that all auditions are imperfect, but then again, I don't know of any selection method that doesn't have a flaw of some kind...although I will say that coin flips are incredibly elegant in their simplicity, resistant as they are to any outside influence other than the natural forces of gravity and friction. Auditions are often comprised of a complicated mixture of unfair requests, inadequate information, wasted time, and breathtaking moments of minds being blown away.

But oh, how joyous is that final ingredient. How great it is to find those people that make you write "YES," and nothing more, in large block letters in your comments section.

Good luck to everybody coming out today and tomorrow. See you soon.
