And Breanna's OC Amy is an inspiration to the OC in this fic. Lol. Oh it's 5:20 in the morning btw... so I lost sleep... lots of it because of this fic.
The day was warm and breezy in Central Park, which was particularly a nice spring early afternoon. However, Elliot was working while his allergies were starting to act up and that bothered him terribly. The detective felt angry at the fact that he had to meet George in Central Park, and not at the squad room. Olivia told Elliot that George couldn’t help them on their current case because he had business to attend to. And since Elliot and Olivia needed some of George’s insight of their latest perp., the two decided to bring the work to him.
Still feeling bitter about his allergies and among other things, Elliot tried to speed walk through a trail. He spotted the playground George was supposedly busily at. Elliot was skeptic about finding George in a playground since it seemed odd that a busy psychiatrist from the FBI with no hints of having kids, would be busy at a playground. Then some certainly deranged, but possible thoughts that would usually come to when he had to face children in many of his cases. However, he pushed that thought back as he noticed the FBI smiling as he helped a fallen Asian girl up.
“Thanks Uncle,” the girl grimaced with embarrassment as George pulled her gently up from her fallen state. “I could get up myself. I’m really big for my age to do that now. I’m go- ”
“- ing to be eight in a week, I know,” George finished for her. Smirking, he could see the glaring eyes he was receiving from his niece that always reminded him of his baby sister. “Well, your mom would have my head if you have even the tiniest scar. And I did promise her I’d watch you while she’s running errands today.”
Folding her arms, she made a little ‘hmph’ and muttered something as she stomped away toward a little group of girls nearby. Elliot was amused at the whole scene before him. It reminded him of his younger days with his four kids. They were rebellious little rascals but Elliot was able to handle them.
“Elliot . . . ” Blinking back from reminiscing for a second, he looked at George. He realized George was not in his usual suit and tie getup, which Elliot was currently wearing. But he was wearing dark blue jeans, with a gray sweatshirt, and running shoes. It was not professional at all and George called whatever he was doing right now, business?
However, Elliot turned to look at the girl whom George was talking to earlier. She was playing with the group of girls, which Elliot could bring in consideration that maybe George had to baby sit, somehow. “Looks like you’ve got your hands full.”
George smiled as he looked at the same direction as Elliot. “Well, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen my niece. I felt obligated to excuse myself for a while, just to hang out with the brat over there.”
“I wish I had that type of attitude,” Elliot said as he felt a sudden pang of pain inside. A pain that brought back the recent memories of his divorce and having to know that he could hardly see his kids at all, even though he knew his job had occupied him from seeing his kids already. Elliot would have done the same as George had, but he was too busy trying to protect that certain world from them.
“Well, I’m sure your kids still love you. And they think highly of you because of the deeds you’ve done over those many years in the unit,” George said as he folded his arms. “Maybe you should go see them. I’m sure they can’t wait to see you soon.”
“Yeah, I know,” Elliot replied while smiling a little. However, he frowned as he suddenly came to realize the reason why he was actually here. “Doc. I actually came here hopping you'd give us an idea on the latest perp.”
George looked at Elliot with a bemused face. “I thought I already did...”
“What?” Elliot asked, surprised as well.
“I already saw the crime scene photos early in the morning and told everyone about the perp.’s profile while you weren’t there,” George explained. “I was in a rush to get out so I can go to my sister’s place . . . ” He stopped as he left Elliot to tell his niece to not run off too far.
The detective was wondering how he felt almost set up to come all the way from the squad room and into the pollen-infested park. However, what surprised him a bit was the fact that Olivia knew already that George gave a profile. What was the reason for coming here?
And the sudden realization, came to him. He felt glad that he had a talk to George, despite his dislike for shrinks. With his game face on, Elliot couldn’t wait for the case to be over.
