Tuesday I’d already heard about Natasha Richardson’s accident by the time my work shift started.

A girl with giant holes in her ear lobes bought a DVD copy of Kinsey. We keep the discs behind the counter. The image on the disc is of Kinsey (Liam Neeson) in bed with his better half. They look super duper happy. I made no comment because I didn't want to find out if the girl knew or didn't know about the real Mrs. Neeson being hurt.

Also on Tuesday, someone called in looking for Skiing For Dummies. After I fetched a copy off the shelf, I walked back to the phone and looked up helmets in the index. Page 90 mentioned something about them generally being a good idea.

Recent Action Comics artist Gary Frank rendered Superman and Lois to match the performers who brought them to life on the big screen. It's freaky to see Christopher Reeve alive on the page and Margot Kidder looking so smoldering and so perfectly Lois-like in every panel.

A co-worker turned 30. Just to make him feel bad I told him welcome to the downhill from here club. Maybe it's not the aches and pains so much. It's the awareness that kicks in and picks up speed that bad shit happens and eventually you're gonna get some, warranted or not.
