Last week I spent the 50 euro worth of book vouchers that I received as a present. This is what I bought (3 books for the price of 2 in Waterstones):
1. The Road Cormac McCarthy
2. With my Lazy Eye Julia Kelly
3. The Reluctant Fundamentalist Mohsin Hamid
4. The Reader Bernhard Schlink
5. Revolutionary Road Richard Yates
6. The Audacity of Hope Barack Obama
Today I couldn't resist buying Dreams of my Father by Barack Obama also, as after reading Miketrolls review, I decided that i really should read this one first as it tells the story of his life. The fact that it was on offer for 8 euro ( in HMV) also may have contributed to the purchase! I'm not really a political person at all but I'm fascinated by the man and wonder if he is going to deliver on all the things that certain people are predicting. Here's hoping that they are right.
As if I didn't already have hundreds of books on my shelf waiting to be read.
I know that the Reader and Revolutionary Road have been made into films so I'll probably start with those as I like to read the book first and then see the film.
