Must write more...

I love reading everybody else's journal entries when I get a chance but I'm afraid I'm not so good at writing my own journal. Sometimes I decide to write something and then discover that I've got nothing to say! Anyway, I am going to make a concerted effort in the future to write something no matter how banal.

I spent about 20 to 30 minutes a week ago doing one of those "meme" thingys, but in my efforts to hide it behind a "cut" I lost the whole bl**dy thing! So I'm afraid none of you will ever know what colour my toothbrush is...tough I know.

Last Sunday, Hubby and I braved the flooding in Dublin city and made our way to Farmleigh House in the Phoenix park to go to a Drive-in movie. I don't think it's the first time that there has been such an event in Ireland but it was the first time for us. Son no. 1 had obtained tickets online for free for three different showings. He was supposed to attend "The Shining" on Saturday night but unfortunately this one was cancelled because of severe weather conditions and flooding. My sister got  tickets for Sunday afternoon to see "Grease" which she said was fantastic. They had 50's cars up front which revved up during the car chase!

Our tickets were for "Jaws" , and what did the steward say as we drove through the huge lake towards the car park? : " ah sure don't worry about the lake, it's only for special effects!"  (that's Dublin humour for you folks) .  Well, it was fantastic, what a treat! We parked right in front of the screen near the back and i was able to push the seat back and put the feet up on the dashboard. And no, there was no snogging in the back seat (at least not in our car, shucks!).  Another group of four people drank champagne while leaning on the boot of their soft -top flash car. Very nice no doubt but a little chilly as the night went on I reckon.

Highlights included the delicious crepes, belgian chocolate, marshmallows and banana for me and Baileys and cream for him.....absolutely gorgeous but very messy ie two big slops down the front of the sweatshirts!
