Now I'm logging my miles in two places. First I signed up for
BeeWellMiles.com - because they donate 15¢ for every mile to Breast Cancer Network of Strength. I figured since I'm already walking, those miles might as well count for something. The site, of course, have all kinds of other resources and helps for getting fit and healthy, but so far I'm just logging the miles.
Then, right after I signed up for BeeWellMiles, they started a new walking plan where Jeffrey works. I suppose it's some kind of competition because they have teams, and everyone is supposed to log their miles at this
American Heart Association site. Anyway, they said spouses could sign up too so I'm on the team. The funny thing is that I don't think Jeff has walked once since this thing started. He's just been so busy at work - going in early, etc. I guess that's why they wanted me on the team, so they'll get some miles logged!
The BeeWellMiles thing started April 1, and the work thing started April 8 - so I've got 32 miles logged on the first site, and 22 on the other one. There were some missed days because it's spring, and there's been rain.
I've been doing pretty well at keeping up with it because I've got both sites set as my home page(s) - on separate tabs. So, when I open my browser, those sites open and remind me to log my miles. It works pretty well. Better than going a week or two and then trying to remember which days I walked or didn't walk so I could post it here and keep track of the miles on my shoes. Speaking of those shoes - I'm over 400 miles on them. The soles still look pretty good, a little wear on the heels but not bad. Still, they're not as comfortable as they should be, so I think I'm going to start using the newer shoes soon. These are still in good enough shape that I can wear them just for general wear - like to the store, library and such.
